Here we go again, KMG future surely hangs on this game.

Glad to see Campbell start on the bench, although he's a great player, you want to be playing players on form and he is suffering a lack of it this past few months.
Good to see Grimley in the middle, think he has a big future ahead of him.  I wouldn't be concerned about Sheilds doing half forward, I can only assume he will have a roaming role or is in there to track someone specific.

My only hope for this match is that if things aren't happening for players or the tactics aren't working, be proactive and get them changed sooner.

Seems the appetite needs to change with the players according to this:

I always wondered why a county like Antrim haven't ever challenged in my lifetime in Ulster (bar 2009).
Most teams hit some sort of form and are competing for a few years before they fade but they seem to hover around the lower teams permanently.  I wouldn't know a great deal about their team or structures, but do they not have the players, the attitude/belief or what?

GAA Discussion / Re: Down v Armagh. June 4th

Campbell has been very inconsistent this year for Armagh, capable of getting good scores and winning good ball but not able to replicate this recently and didn't look at all in shape for yesterday.
Question marks surround Forker for me, real tenacious hard working player but discipline issues and a lack of confidence has seen him stutter this year.  I would have had 2/3 players on a lot sooner for these two.

Not to dampen the Down followers mood but a reality check is severely needed here.  Armagh only scored 3 times in the second half, including a 20 yard free, and Down only won by 2 points.  When they come up against most likely Monaghan, they will have some genuine ball players to contain.

Tried this recently with Ulster Bank, was told that because we (me and oh) had land in our name, (which was purchased for the purpose of building our new first house) we could not benefit from this.  We were due to get £1000 each off this but it didn't pan out ffs, the rules for self builds were not clear at all.  Solicitor later told us it could have been used to purchase the land.

Well done Down, some really classy players in that team and although they won't be going much further in Ulster they pulled in together for a much deserved home victory.

Onto the match,

Liked how the ref let a lot of things go but got some decisions wrong and lost the run of it at the end.  Though Down had several soft frees in the first half and the majority of their scores came as a result.

Armagh were too slow to make changes, some players were not at the races at all.  Campbell and Grugan are great players but you could tell they were not going to produce the goods.  It would be hard to take off those players who can create something out of nothing but they were not at it at all.  Grugan had a viable shot off his unfavourable right foot and neglected to take it which summed up the second half for Armagh.

Mooneys direct running was great to watch and player him off half back was a good decision, think he is a natural forward.

The Armagh hype brigade were at it again and put the team up for an almighty fall today.  Although the lost with the stroke of a ball, 3 second half scores is as poor a return as you can get from any inter county team!

Two teams who have been inconsistent in recent years who would fancy beating one another, I think it won't be an overly tactical affair, hoping for a shootout as Armagh would have more of an attacking threat.

Although both teams would be doing well to get past Monaghan/Cavan, should be one of the more interesting matches of the Ulster Championship as it is genuinely hard to call.

It on the TV?

I wouldn't have said glamorise it, and surely enough the issues in the show need talked about, but one father of a real life suicide victim hit the nail on the head by saying it would plant a seed in the minds of young adults and can be interpreted as a solution to issues many young people face.

Watched 13 reasons why over the last 2 weekends after it was all over the news and Fbook and that, thought it was good show but some disturbing scenes in the last few episodes.  Is it marketed for teenagers/ young adults?

GAA Discussion / Re: 12 Week Ban For Geezer

Feel it is a bit harsh slating him even though nobody knows what he has said.  Marc O'Se made a good comment that the linesman should have addressed the situation there and then with the referee and it could have been dealt with.  Any one that has played GAA knows that managers and coaches get vocal on the sideline with officials, in most cases I've witnessed, the ref has told the manager/coach to leave the pitch and stand in the crowd or he would blow the game up and walk away.

On the other side of the coin 12 weeks may sound excessive but effectively is only going to be a 2 game ban.  Further still Armagh will inevitably have Joe as an official again at some stage and we all know how he is going to sway when it comes to disputed 50/50 decisions.

Great player and great corner back, always tasked with marking the opponents danger man.  His position was never threatened in all his time with Armagh even during their heyday which speaks volumes.

Not sure what you mean when you say limited? He was an old school corner back who could deny and dispossess, he never had to run 100 yards to spoil his opponents' game!

I think he was talking to his good pal Sean Cavanagh.  I can only imagine Joe was giving advice on being manlier in exchange for some Tyrone scoop.

Having watched most Armagh games this year, I would back them to get the job done as they have developed as each game has progressed, although this will be there toughest match so far!

Last time out Antrim frustrated them and Armagh were extremely wasteful in attack as a result, if they can correct this I would have them winning no problem.

Forker is a great player and really needs game time for the summer, although it would be too hard replacing anyone along the half forward line or half back line, all doing rightly!

Got a ban myself for using the word fcuk in a non-abusive way, granted there is only 1 moderator (I think) to oversee everything but what's the point of the forum if you can't discuss without running the risk of getting thrown off if he feels it's not acceptable! Side note, it's annoying you can't lurk either without having to sign in, unlike here  ;)

Aye it would have been the simplest thing to do! I would say there were other factors at work in his decision, such as his Nike contract and not being able to represent them!

He has never had to declare his allegiance between Ireland and the UK before and declaring for an Olympic team would have put him in an awkward position with some fans! Surely you can grasp that?

I think the point McIlroy was trying to make was that the Olympics is putting him in the position where he had to firmly say I'm Irish or I'm British.  Before he was happy to drape a Tricolour or Ulster flag around him when needed, but in this instance he would be perceived as confirming his allegiance to one or the other, even though he couldn't give two fcuks.
I'm no golf expert but what other senior competitions do they represent their countries?    Although he handled it woefully what else was he to do?
