County chairman (Seamus Mc Cloy) declares there, ll never be a hurling stick in Bellagy. What are ye afraid of ???

tell us more here ha ha derry...
.This was a by quote by Seamus Mc Cloy to a very well known Lavey dual player. He also went on to declare that Bellagy had the most county c,ships in Derry. He was corrected later that week at the Lavey annual dinner that Lavey had more... 5 football, 17 hurling, 15 camogie...etc. Howls of laughter ensued

Wasn''t there some boy way, way back who lifted ball up into the air and did a 360 degree turn and hit it as he came back down. Apparently it was impossible to save, given the force generated by the turn and the fact that he was closer in than normal by vitrue of the turn.

Does anybody know anything about this ?? There was a term for it, if I can remember correctly.
It,s called the hammer he he he.

attempted striking is also a red  card offence contact does not have to have been made. I know cuz it happened to me.
Alan O Conner jumped at Mulligan with knee and forearm late !!! Should have been straight red.

why not do it like the rugby, fixtures booklet issued at the start of the year with all the dates if you don,t play you lose the points. No changed fixtures no exceptions. County players allowed to play up until 5 days before a county match. This should help managers of county teams to see who,s in form.

Most Derry football clubs have only played 8 league matches to date. Teams still in the ch,ship will now have to play teams in league matches that they,ve beaten in the c,ship. Very very messy.
