Tyrone / Re: Tyrone Club Football and Hurling

A few boys on that pitch today looked like they were carrying a bit to much timber.

You can take the man out of Tyrone but you can't take the Tyrone out of the man.

Smokescreen????
NEW: The UK will bring forward legislation this week which could see work on the construction of border control posts at Northern Ireland ports resume, following months of controversy related to the Northern Ireland Protocol, @rtenews understands
Would they be that stupid?

Difference this time is the border posts are at the ports and not the border. This would effectively say ni is separate from UK which will piss of the dup further
Jesus I completely read that wrong, thought it meant checkpoints between the 26 and 6. Checks at ports are annoying too tbh but better than land border. DUP getting shafted by the Tories again who would have seen that coming.

Funny thing is, unionists would be treated with far more respect and have a far greater say in things in a United Ireland only they are too pig headed to see it.

Yeah that's the funny part, they would be treated far better in an UI than in the UK but unfortunately for them they are too ignorant to realise that.

You will hear loyalist now calling for attacks but they can't attack the posts put up by the UK government so will be interesting to see what happens over the next while

Look, there's no point in talking about a UI when the Nationalists in NI hardly want it, never mind the Unionists

I don't think too many people in the south would be keen to take us either.  Especially when it come to the economic aspects NI would not be long putting a dent in the RoI GDP.  If NI was a limited company it would have went bust years ago.

The definition of a student in UU has for a long time being differed to what everyone else thinks what it means.

I've a degree and a freshers out of it...Great spot

A Masters out of Queens but found UUJ more like a family as out in the sticks in 1 building

Needed the Queen's Masters to get a job.

(I'm only messing ffs)

How was it switching from crayons to pens when you moved from UU to Queens?

It was actually the playdough I missed more  ;D ;D

Head Tennis in UUJ Mall was exceptional tbf....talent off the scale.....didn't get that centred vibe in QUB. Too spread out landing at Old Houses basically for class. Plus the pens leaked the odd time  :D

Agree 100%

Any recommendations for a eurocamp/ lodge type resort. Open to anywhere as long as it's warm with good pool /water park and reasonably priced. For 3 kids, 3, 6, 10.

Was looking at sanguli in Spain which I've heard is good.
Les as all a in Portiragnes in South East France is a great spot, been there 4 times and will be going back even though kids are too old now, lot better value, cleaner, better food etc that Sanguli or Cambrils (have been to both), great pool complex, beside the beach etc. Great water park €10 taxi ride away. Book directly with the site to get the best mobiles, Eurocamp very hit and miss in my experience.

Looks good, where do you fly in and out of?

Getting up the upgrade at the moment and it would seem my original BT cable across a neighbours field was not ducted.  Openreach will need to therefore lay a duct to pull the new cable through, I am awaiting for them to quote for this.  Has anyone any experience of a similar situation and did it cost much?

A great article in the Irish News yesterday by C O'K re the Dungiven minor team of 1990.  He mentioned Eunan O'Kane as the greatest player the world never saw, I heard about him years ago, apparently he was an unbelievable footballer.

I presume it is the book version of the documentary that was on a few weeks ago?

Really enjoyed the documentary, very well made and very informative.

Can not but help have a lot of admiration of what he had achieved up until the whole Anglo thing.

However when he was given an opportunity to come back into the business thereafter he could not accept he had to take a back seat, lost sympathy for him at this point.  Nobody else would ever have got such an opportunity of being allowed back into a business that they had almost ran into the ground.

Fingers crossed MR2 I will be in a position to weather any storm coming down the tracks, working in a recession proof industry unlike in 08, kids half rared and on the home straight re my own mortgage.  It is the younger people / those heavily leveraged re mortgages, car loans etc that could struggle.  Re holiday for this year hopefully will get away somewhere with the kids, everybody to their own but I would prioritise this i.e. creating memories for the kids ahead of having a nice motor(s) sitting outside the house.  Between the wife and I both our wagons are paid off and between them have almost 400k miles on the clock, if I can get both through MOT this year hope to keep them going for at least another 12 months.

Remember 2008 very well, things started to wobble in Autumn / Winter 2007 in that I put a BTL on the market in September (price of the property had doubled in 5 years) that I thought would sell rather quickly but not a sniff on it.  Start of 2008 Estates Agents, developers etc still talking things up however it was March / April 2008 that things started to go downhill and then into freefall.  Had friends who started jobs in January / Feb 2008 and were getting P45s by Easter of that year.

I hope the same thing does not happen again but if people continue to lose confidence in things, particularly the housing market, hard not to see tough times ahead.  While the energy cap / £600 credit might kick some cans down the road I thing the bigger problem is when people come off current mortgage deals.  Not to many people have £400 - £600 spare at the end of the month to absorb this.

Would not be a fan of excessive heat however from what I can see peak season and therefore dearer prices start from 20th July onwards.  Will definitely get greater value if we go in early / mid July.

Any recommendations for Spain / France / Italy?

Planning for next summer,

Any recommendations on the continent, kids are aged 4 - 12 so water park type resorts would be a preference.   Thinking of going all inclusive as there is 6 of us.

Thanks.
