Is the final the last weekend in November? Might get the train down (if it's doable).

Ummm I think AZ said they changed that a couple of years ago.

No he was referring to the Kerry divisional team, Mid Kerry, which wouldn't have been permitted in the Munster championship so no matter what happened Dr Crokes were representing Kerry at the next stage. The Kerry structure has been discussed at length in other threads. It's interesting enough reading.

Any idea what games are on next weekend? I'm horribly biased but I hope they show the Dublin Football.

Cheers for posting that, not just because of the highlights but also because it led me back to the first page which explained everything to me about Kerry's structures.

Best of luck with it Dave.

The Westmeath SFC replay was played in monsoon like conditions in Mullingar yesterday. For the weather it was actually a very good quality match. Dessie Dolan was on Midlands 103 after the match saying that he had being playing football in Cusack Park since 98 and that's easily the worst he has ever seen it. I wouldn't mind but Westmeath were bundled out of the qualifiers in the first round in July, finishing the championship on the 23rd of October is a bit of a joke. It probably suits Garrycastle though as they're not out in Leinster for another 3 weeks.

I was in Mullingar to cover the match. The quality of play in the first half defied the conditions. There were some excellent scores from play from both sides. After the break the pitch looked a lot worse for wear and while it showed, the game was nowhere near as sloppy as one would have expected considering the damage done by the elements.

Great game in Mullingar considering the conditions. A few cracking scores in the first half but Shamrocks fell apart after the break.

Would love to get my hands on one of those shinty sticks.

I was extremely fortunate to play a Scottish youth team twice when I was playing Minor with Crokes (roughly 12 years and 6 stone ago) so traded a hurl for a stick. It's quite the cool thing to show people when they visit.

So a club's second team can't play IFC or JFC in Donegal then?

I reckon I'll take the bus to Donegal vs Cork, it'll be interesting to see how they match up with each other.

Well for close distances the obvious one in Dublin is Faughs and Judes. Crokes and Olafs have pitches neighbouring each other as well. St Anne's park is used by multiple clubs so some 'away' games likely are in name only.
