Am I imagining things or was there a discussion on here somewhere re: Irish players to play in European semis/finals?

It was on the United thread. Conclusion we came to was that the last time 3 Irish lads played in a European Cup semi final was 1985 - Beglin, Lawrenson, Whelan - and not 1968 - Brennan, Dunne, Best as initially proposed. Then Muppet rightly pointed out that the question posed said only "European semi final" and pointed to the Arsenal bucks - O'Leary, Brady, Rice, Stapleton and a few more in possibly the Cup Winners Cup, not sure what year.

Anything to add?

Just watching the Liverpool Fulham game last night with Baird and Hughes playing, got me thinking. Checked and those 2 and Duff played in last years Europa League Final. Not sure about the semi mind

Got a 2nd hand set of iron from American Golf on sale for 110 quid (my mate knew the fella as well) and they look like they have hardly been used. I'm only a beginner so I don't know much about them compared to what the other lads on here would but the difference in a cheap set(dunlop and the likes)is unreal. They are easier to hit, the ball goes further and they have an all round better feel to them.

Cheers Jim, I paid a £100 for them, hopefully they'll do the job for me

Just purchased a set of Taylormade R7's off gumtree. Think they are about 4 years old, anyone ever had experience of them?

Not too often a team scores 5 away to Fulham who have a decent home record but we/Liverpool blew them away with the old pass and move.

Suarez's movement is just unplayable when he is in that mood.

Where's Keys and Gray now, who said Woy was doing a good job with what Rafa had left him...ballbags!!

King Kenny..legend!

What I find amazing about Giggs is how he has reinvented himself.  In his prime, he was an unbelievable winger but not someone you ever would have though as being a playmaker in the middl, yet he somehow has evolved into that role.

Sure didn't John Barnes do the same? (Giggs needs to put on a stone or 3 mind!)

Spuds only get a point v Blackpool.
Changes nothing really, win next 3 games and will be in Europe next season.

Would prefer not to be.

I think we need to be in Europe for the reason to keep the squad happy and playing regularly. I think Carra mentioned something along the lines if you only have 1 game a week a lot of players are going to be disappointed. I would agree with Laoislad and blood the youngsters and also give game time to squad (which will be bigger come Aug/Sept) players to keep things ticking over

When the toilet seat doesn't stay up by itself, which means you have to hold it with one hand, which can lead to many a mishap in the other hand.

The only thing worse than this is, when the toilet seat stays up until you are in full flow then decides to come down taking the toilet lid with it...pish everywhere!!!!

Great news on the new kit deal. That will be 45 mil coming in a year from it and our sponsership deal with Standard Chartered. You have to hand it to Ayre and the new owners, that despite us not performing on the pitch as we would like, they are certainly pulling off deal after deal.
