Didn't Sinn Fein appoint Mary McArdle as a SPAD?

Daithi McKay involved in coaching Bryson at the Nama inquiry.  Maybe not as bad as the DUP but as a joint government the both of them have failed to deliver.

"Maybe" not as bad .... Its not even in the same galaxy !!

and didnt Daithi McKay resign  .. FFS  ::)

If the Shinners had been involved in a 1/10 of what the DUP had there would have been all hell to pay ... and their vote would certainly have suffered..
Appointing a SPAD convicted of murdering an innocent woman isn't in the same galaxy -  ::)

Would Rory Scannell not be ahead of Keatley as well on current form?  Is Donnacha Ryan injured?  Surprised he is not on the Squad as I thought he had impressive Autumn series

He would have got stick from people if he had played for GB & NI.  He also would have got stick from people if he had played for Ireland.  Why bother listening to that and just not play - seems like a good option to me.  Granted it was stupid then to declare for Ireland - he should have just said from the outset he wasn't playing in them.  IMO sports like Golf/Tennis in the Olympics anyway but that's another argument.

how much are you willing to spend?  Have you looked at a Hybrid option at all.  Was looking at the Tesla Model S (https://www.tesla.com/en_GB/models) - really nice for a full electric car and some really good speed benchmarks and miles on a full charge.  It looks good as well - however the price is probably way too high for the average buyer - in few years though would expect them to drop

If the Westmeath hurlers don't need a post-match meal, they shouldn't be asking their county board and their own clubs to foot an unnecessary bill.  Charity donations are much more impressive when you spend your own money, not someone else's.
where does it say they don't need a post-match meal?  They are giving one up you clown.  They will still need to eat which they will fund themselves rather than take the free meal they would have got funded by the county board.

Truth is....Harte & O'Donnell don't believe they can take Pomeroy any further and fear relegation!! (I don't believe they will have this problem) Liam Donnelly was the same last year with Edendork. Its an easy way out......very bad form!!

That couldn't be further from the truth, there are too many average teams in the bottom half to be worrying about relegation. Obviously we're not going to be winning an O'Neill cup but there is definitely an opportunity to break into the top 8 with this team.
Division 1 as people have said will be far more competitive this year, the three teams coming up are stronger than the three who went down. Pomeroy also have the handicap of starred games which will surely affect them heavily in division 1. For a top 8 finish you also have to be beat established teams like Greencastle, Edendork, Strabane who have shown they can beat anyone on a given day as well as teams like Carrickore, Trillick, Ardboe with huge pedigree. A big ask for a team who underachieved for years in division 2 and clicked this year. Avoiding relegation and a comfortable mid table finish should be pomeroys aim this year.

2016 was Edendork first year in senior in 4 years - wouldn't call them an established Senior team.  Also, I wouldn't say the 3 teams going up are stronger than the 3 coming down.  Take Donaghmore vs Augher for example - out of the times they have played in last 4 years - 3 times in the league and once in the championship - Donaghmore won once.  I would say there is bottom 5/6 teams in Div 1 and the top 5/6 in Div 2 are all off a very similar standard and it would perhaps make the case for having a Div 1B again

Anyone have the iPhone 7?  Recommended? Was looking at the specs vs the 6s or 6s plus and really doesn't seem to be much in it?

The new Google Pixel looks good as well, though.

The information that girl was tested for HIV/stds was in the public domain and that was the context for Gilroy to ask the question. He explained the context in the interview.
Being tested for stds implies sexual intercourse.

Where was that information in the public domain?
Statement by the father, presented to media,  read out on public radio. Did you not listen to the interview?
That defines 'information being in the public domain'.

If you show me where that information was in the public domain before the interview was broadcast, I'll take your point on board.

If you can't then your initial point has no weight.
The media round has been dreadful. His LLS interview was cancelled. He pulled out of the Nolan show. Gilroy roasted him. There was another one as well.

It looks like the father had been in contact with News talk. If McCarron apologised would he be open to private legal action?

http://www.the42.ie/cathal-mccarron-tense-interview-off-the-ball-3114914-Dec2016/

"We were contacted by the father and asked not to speak to you. There's been a delay in getting you on the show and people were wondering why we haven't had you on considering the high-profile nature of the book. What's your take on that now?

McCarron: I have solicitors in place and they've advised me not to talk about the incident. It's not fair for me to come out and talk about anything that's gone on out of respect for both parties.

GG: We have a statement from the family. "As a family, we have been deeply impacted by Cathal McCarron's actions. My daughter has been damaged and affected. We feel he has never shown any remorse for his actions. In his autobiography and in subsequent newspaper interviews, he was afforded the opportunity to say how remorseful he was for his actions but he failed to do so. We also wanted to point out that he used the Irish version of his name on Facebook, which one must assume was to disguise his identity. Due to his well-publicised role in a pornography film, we had to have a test done for HIV and AIDS and wait for the longest few weeks of our life. In this life, we all have to be responsible and accountable for our actions and no matter what the outcome shall be, the family hope that he will be held accountable for those actions." What's your response, Cathal?
CM: No response. That's all I'm going to say about that"

I also wonder what the point in bold has to do with anything?  one must assume it was to disguise his identity - what did Oscar Wilde say when you assume something - it makes an ass of u and me.

There's every chance that if McCarron continues along the same path he's on, he'll end up in credit over time. But that feels a distance away just yet.
After reading his book, you're left with a sense if Cathal McCarron had gone his whole life without betting so much as a penny, he would still be an unusually violent, belligerent loose cannon with a sharpened sense of victimhood.
You want to have sympathy for McCarron the addict because the torment that pushed him to the brink of throwing himself in front of a tube train in London is obviously real.
But to do that, you have to make yourself be okay with McCarron the person and that is harder to do.
His book tour gambled on nobody drilling too far down into this contradiction.
Another bet lost

Any chance you can post the article?
