Sorry mate but that's madess. Lucas has been one of our most consistant performers over the last 2 years and has developed into a terrific player. The days of ridicule are desevedly behind him, only continued by barstool warmers who haven't a clue. Never bitches, complains, runs to the press. IMO an ideal pro and one I hope will remain at the club for years to come.

Wickham gone to Sunderland. It appears that the strong rumours that he was coming to Liverpool and wanted the move were incorrect and that Sunderland have outbid us - using our money from Henderson deal.

Tony Barrett suggesting that our valuation was way off and we weren't willing to match sunderlands. At a guess, I'd say we valued him in same bracket as Ngog and saw one as replacing the other for the same price.

While its worrying that we appear to be a position of been unbid for not huge amounts, its positive that we are been cautious and careful. Some raised eyebrows at Hendersons price but Wickham is a much greater risk - younger and unproven in the EPL plus a striker lives or dies by goals scored, so that always a risk.

[I must admit I'm a bit puzzled with some of the activity. It makes sense if JJ is going to Blackpool on loan, but there's still a huge amount of bodies that will have to be catered for, all jostling for a midfield berth.

If we sign Adam, it throws another lad into the mix. Where will they all play? Will Kenny do a horses for courses approach? If we take Maxi, Kuyt and Downing out of the mix, you're still left with Gerrard, Adam, Shelvey, Spearing, Lucas, Henderson and Meireles all looking for 3 places max.

I can see were you're coming from, especially as we have no euro footy to rotate players in and out of, but at least now we have strength in depth (something that has been real problem for I don't know how long), whether they will all be happy is another thing. In KK we trust

Was thinking that, 'if' they do buy him they'll have a hell of a player but have spent a sizeable chunk of their budget on a player they don't really need (a la utd with jones and young) but still have the same weaknesses, ie no keeper, CB, DM or number 9. Which would be good news for our assault on the title er I mean push for the top 4!
