The Suarez case is very clear cut in my opinion, and I've a degree of sympathy for him. However he used a term that was acceptable in his own country but not in England. To use that as a defence was niave. That's like saying it's alright to drink 15 pints in Russia and drive so it should be here too.

Secondly that statement by Liverpool does Suarez no favours. It's very Ali G.

Thirdly. Do you think Liverpool fans could actually comment on the facts of the issue and accept things as they are? Years back just hours after the Heysel tragedy Liverpool's chairman John Smith blamed Chelsea fans for the trouble. Now the theories abound about Terry's case. Let's find someone else to blame. You can guarantee that should JT be found not guilty, as the absence of evidence in the public domain suggests could be the case, the theorists will abound!

The English fa have swerved the Terry case by passing it to the police. If the police don't charge him, how can the fa?. On a similar note now the fa have charged Suarez will the police follow up?-rascism at football is a named crime, if it was a fan they could be brought before the courts.

True although he was found by the FA hearing at the time to have provided evidence that was "exaggerated and unreliable". So whether this will be taken into account this time around remains to be seen.

you might want to check your facts too.

The three man panel has just been made public -

Alex Ferguson, David Gill & Steve Bruce.

prob right, heaven forbid that Suarez might actually have a case to answer to, better he becomes the victim.

Truth finally out about Darren Fletcher

http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2011/Dec/darren-fletcher-takes-a-break.aspx

Fletcher takes a break

On behalf of Darren Fletcher, Manchester United wishes to announce that he is taking an extended break from football for health reasons.

Over the past year he has had several absence periods which we have attributed to a viral illness in order to respect his right to medical confidentiality. Darren has, in fact, been suffering from ulcerative colitis (a chronic inflammatory bowel condition) for some time preceding this.

Whilst he was able to maintain remission of symptoms for a considerable period this has proved more difficult recently and Darren's continued desire to play and his loyalty to both his club and country has probably compromised the chances of optimising his own health and fitness.

He has therefore accepted medical advice to take an extended break from the demands of training and playing in order to afford the best chance possible of achieving full remission once again.

We request that his privacy is respected and hope that the removal of the additional stress associated with speculation regarding his health will also aid his recovery.

lets see what value is out there now....

Those boys now get ten minutes of limelight at the end of every episode, so I'm sure they're happy enough. In fact, those last ten minute segments are often the highlight of episodes these days.

Im sure I read somewhere that the introduction of these segments was due to the fact that the progs were getting exported to the states. The theory was that a US audience "couldnt concentrate" for 60 mins, where as the home market would feel cheated if they didnt get the full 60 mins. This is not the first series that the BBC have had these behind the scenes pieces at the end.

Try an animal shelter. Give an animal down on its luck, a new home.

This, you get the kids what they want and the added feel good factor.

Im assuming you are in Armagh, try here

They advertise in the Tyrone papers as well.

Other options here.

Guys there are some really mixed up views here. I have no affinity for the poppy given my upbringing, even though I had relatives killed in a British Uniform. The poppy is a fund raising tool of the British Legion and in fairness to them they have done a great job at getting at the forefront of peoples minds in November. But we have to sort out the issues.
1. It is a fund raising tool which allows the Legion to support soldiers who having been sent off to war by there political masters only to be forgotton about when they return.

There should be no need for the legion in this day and age, if the gov send them out to get maimed  then it should be gov that look after them when they get back, not a Charity.

3. We have to separate the unjustness of war, and no one can stand over the conflict in Iraq or Afghanistan, from the working class men and women from all parts of these Islands who end up on the front line...hardly by choice.

None of these "heros" are conscripts, they are career soldiers, no one forces them to take the risk, they do it for money.

6. Personally I will never wear a poppy because I don't consider myself British and therefore their army is not my army and it fought and killed my fellow countrymen. But I do believe if we as Nationalists and Republicans expect respect for our culture and traditions then we must also show tolerance for the culture and traditions of others even though we may not agree with them or find it distasteful.
7.Some Unionists and the so called poppy fascists are actually in danger of destroying the poppy as fund raising tool by their lack of tolerance for those who do not wish to wear one for whatever reason.

The Unionists poppy fascism is small beans compared to the under current of revolt here in England. There are just as many, if not more, shuddering at the dianafication of the whole thing as there are those trying to force it down the throat  - the england football debarcle a prime example.
