General discussion / Re: Bad back
November 30, 2012, 09:39:25 PM
I had very bad back pain and went to an osteopath who works out of omagh and banbridge. He is very honest and upfront and doesnt bullshit. I had bad back pain, had to get injections to kill the pain and he had me sorted in two sessions. I know that your pain is a lot worse but I have been to numerous physios etc and none of them were able to help. Let me know if you want his details and ill pass them on to you.

There's something likeable about Errigal and always has been. I mind in '93 going to the Athletic Grounds to cheer them on in what I think was an Ulster Final against Downpatrick?

Why are they likeable compared to the other big successul sides?

There definitely is.  I mind going to the County final in 93 or 94 when I was only about 10 as my da was friends with Damian Mallon.  Have always liked them since then and even the Errigal players that have represented Tyrone over the years are among the most likeable.

They lack that cynical edge most succcessful teams have (Dromore/ carrickmore) and a lot of there success is built upon having a classy forward line who can play good football. It would be no secret that down the years Errigal teams have often had forwards much superior to the defensive unit behind them.

You are right about the county thing too, honest skillful players who hardly ever created negative press during their county spell (Devine, Hartes, Canavans, McGinleys).

Compare that with the record of McMenamin, Jordan, Cavanagh or Brian McGuigan.

I can't believe you've just written that.

I can't believe you haven't dried your eyes. This isnt a Tyrone/Armagh discussion, it's a Tyrone club football discussion. Thye have had some excellent footballers over the years who have represented their club and county with distinction.

It takes a lot to disturb me but watching a few minutes of this managed to do this. Seeing yer man kiss the headlight of the car and talking to it was one of the most bizarre things I have seen in my life. Did many others see this?

In Belfast many moons ago random crowd I ended up drinking with were unaware of County Longford - totally unaware. This would have been late 80s/early 90s.

Earlier in the same day I stopped to listen to some lad with a megaphone near Belfast City Hall telling us that unless we turned to Jesus we were all doomed yada yada yada.

This 50ish wan stopped, paused, and said in a conversational voice to nobody in particular:

"I'm a Presbyterian, and I'm goin to Heaven"

and walked off with her messages

I was amazed.

Strange folk are Northerners................

I thought Longford was a mythical place..like the land that time forgot :D

There's very little sympathy here lads! Would you not have liked to have seen those lovely fans getting to celebrate. If they are that  much craic when they lose imagine what they are like when they win.
