Think the maximum 1st loan you can get is £4k and that with having £800 (savings) in the account saved over a peroid of weeks!!
Effectively its a loan of £3,200 as your £800 (savings) is held until mostly paid back!

There's a bar on the Ormeau Road in Belfast which celebrated 4th July by lining the windows with US flags, all of them back to front.

On a totally different point, this same bar put the flags of all the competing nations in the Euros up in the windows when the competition kicked off. Pride of place, in the window right above the front door, was given to a great big Irish tricolour. It stayed there for two or three days. It then mysteriously disappeared, replaced by a Heineken flag. Would love to know the story behind that.

Is that the Hatfield??

Flags it seems is the equivalent to the dog lifting his leg and pi**ing at a lampost..... Just seem to be marking their territory!!

Its fairly shallow, but i would agree that the water tastes a lot better than the mains!

The area around the well we would generally keep away from slurry & fertilizer but I suppose you would need a very large fertilizer free zone around the well to stop nitrate seepage??

I have heard older ones talking about putting "lime" into the well! Does anyone know anything about this process or would a chemical be better to flush out anything?

Quotea gravity fed spring well in silage ground approx 500m from the house
.

I'm a bit confused as to what this means.

How old is the well and what is the constuction?  Narrow or wide bore?

probably the 1970s constructed,  spring well as in water rising out of the ground, it has say 3/4 liners (kinda like an old manhole in field)

Just hoping to pick someone brains....

Basically I have redone the house on the farm and the existing water supply if from a gravity fed spring well in silage ground approx 500m from the house.
I want to continue to use the well as the supply for the house as it is natural, out of the ground etc..

The actual well would have received very little maintenance over the years and i was wondering is there any methods of improving/cleaning the supply?? The well liners are pretty old, and I was wondering would you need to upgrade liners & cap if you were thinking of using it as your main water supply??

Any help be appreciated.

I agree with Screenexile its not what you know at the minute, it who you know gets the job!

I dont mind my job but still stuck on same wage from day 1, employers have you by the balls at minute if you lucky enough to have a job! There is a consensus you feel like you cant rock the boat just keep the head down!
