Its going to be a hard ask to sell out Slane with any act during this climate esp at 80yoyos a pop!! Rock and metal would be the only logical answer!! Look at the last great Slane which was my last - 2003 Feeder/Queens of The Stone age/Foo's/RHCP -- to pull in a good crowd and justify 80 quid it would have to be something similar and along the lines of say Black Keys/Muse/Metallica (could opt for AC/DC cause theres little chance of Metallica), throw in a couple of good local acts  general fiasco/the answer and you've got yourself a gig worth getting wet for!! Of course there could be one guy who could do it on his own...but he'd have to come to Ireland in his 'Yellow Submarine'!!

Place called Tedfords when i was over last was very good. Not far up from the Hilton hotel on Donegal quay.

Bring the the ££ you keep under the mattress for Tedfords!! 2nd best fish restaurant in Belfast, good but not worth the money!!

The Garrick Bar does excellent pub grub, with an awesome selection of beers. If your looking something abit more classy Id recommend 'The barking dog' up past the Bot! Extremes in terms of location but both are good at what they do!!

General discussion / MacBook Pro...Are they worth it?
September 12, 2012, 10:16:20 PM
Must first say Iv been a loyal customer of Windows and Dell for a long time now, however its not been without its 'up's and down's' and 'factory system restore' here and there. My current Dell is coming to the end of its life and well its basically just doing my t*ts in now, so its time to upgrade. I know Mac's and Apple are unrivaled in the department of internet protection the main reason for this being that they are only in around 10-20% of the global market of laptops/computers (last time I checked). The only thing stopping me is.... you guessed it the price!! £999 for the basic model, which would be the one id be going for. Anyone on here got one which could give pro's and con's and is it worth the money. I use my laptop everyday for work which would include CAD, doc's etc as well as downloading movies etc!! Any comments well appreciated.

General discussion / Credit Union Loan?
August 01, 2012, 03:58:03 AM
Whats the craic with a credit union loan? I understand that you must be a member with your local union for a specific term before you can apply for a loan.

But do you have to have a certain amount of savings in order to get a loan? Iv just graduated and therefore no such savings exist, but id like a loan to clear some debt (overdrafts + credit cards) in order to be able to start saving. I have a full time job, so could proof of monthly income be used in order to secure a loan as appose to savings?
