Gnevin, your pm was dealt with. In fact two of us looked after it. We don't always pm back to everyone, we just deal with the request as best we can and leave it.

Yes that can be done POG, but you would be surprised how little it happens. Or given that there are around two thousand posters how do you check all the IP addresses and what if they log in at work and at home. There are a good number on the ban list at the moment!

It is hard to put a finger on what is actually wrong with the board. My own opinion is that most of posters are from Ulster, and with the early exit of Tyrone and Armagh some of the better posters have slipped away into the club section and have no interest beyond their own county colours. It is to be expected, as it would be similar to how I would act.

POG, the difficulty with IP address is that a lot of posters might be using the one connection and one IP address from work or college, so by banning one IP address you may be blocking regular posters that have nothing to do with it. What could be done, and I have seen it on other boards, is that during the registration process posters have to use proper email addresses and not the hotmail or gmail accounts. This should cut out some of the WUM and alter egos.

There is not a whole pile we as mods can do about the standard of posting, ban users because they are not interesting or insightful!!!

GAA Discussion / MOVED: Dublin GAA
July 20, 2007, 11:45:19 AM
This topic has been moved to Local GAA Discussion.

http://gaaboard.com/board/index.php?topic=3730.0

I left the thread on the main board so that everyone could see it existed and post under it when appropriate. It has now been moved over to the local GAA section where all the other local county threads are, so please post under it there.

Keep it to one thread.

The board seems to lock threads with a certain number of pages or posts.

GAA Discussion / One Thread per Topic

I have merged all the Ulster Club Championship threads together, while it is appreciated that there are a large number of Ulster based posters we would still encourage a certain amount of common sense to prevail on the board. After all it is here for all counties.
