GAA Discussion / Re: Cavan vs Fermangh....Again

As another neutral that attended the match I also agree that was one of the worst refereeing displays I've ever seen...totally inconsistent and too fond of the whistle!

Ps.....That's not taking anything away from Cavan, they were the better team and deserved the win...

Hopefully the grass is cut in them fields around Clones. Its a long enough walk, without getting the car stuck after parking in a field..

Ever since i was a child the fields overlooking the pitch in Clones were known as the Breffni Stand......you'll be glad to hear that the grass in now cut in them fields so you'll get a good view of the match.....

Going to watch the football is of course the main reason most people attend a match, but this experience can be greatly enhanced by the atmosphere provided by its location....

I've always found Casement park to be severely lacking when it comes to "atmosphere"........and this all new purpose built stadium isn't going to improve things.
Casement is after all located in a city where the Ulster final will be viewed on as just another entertainment event. Stewards will be tasked with getting people in and out as quickly as possible with as little hassle and disruption caused to the already busy city life.  Whereas when it is staged in Clones it is an all consuming showpiece and takes over the entire town and hinterland making it more of a footballing festival than a one off event.....

An old picture of St. Tiernachs park before the redevelopment, the Hill used to be a some sight when full to capacity on a big match day http://t.co/K6EtDtfUvY

I suppose the decision has been made now but I will definitely miss Ulster Finals in Clones, and outside of my county making the odd appearance in the decider I greatly doubt if ill be interested in a day out to the new Casement for an annual event......

Is there any advice on getting to casement on sunday and avoiding the tailbacks on the motorway as everyone takes the same exit (Kings Hall) ??

Is there a better way of avoiding the traffic?

Big call on Daniel McKenna alright, i seen that he scored 3 points against Dublin in a challenge a few weeks back............but the heat of championship action will be completely different to a meaningless challenge.........

GAA Discussion / Re: Martin Higgins

What a C8nt of a Ref..........

Martin ref'ed a Fermanagh Championship Final a few years back, over the course of the game it seemed his decisions were favouring one side more than the other, the side that benefitted from his decisions, Teemore, won the match.

After the game I discovered that Teemores main sponsor and money man (at that time) was also Martins employer..........Mr Sean Quinn !

Warning........

Referee:- "Fergal Cleary"

I have seen him "ref" a number of fermanagh club matches over the last few years and i have to say he is without doubt one of the worst ref's i've ever seen............

Not sure where the jobs will go bb. Maybe overseas call centre or blended in with their own structures. But Liberty Mutual have said they won't require the staff or local offices so would mean massive job losses. I think these job losses are the only stumbling block with the sales process at the minute as the gov have realised what sort of an impact this will have. Only for this the sale would have been completed by now.

I have a number of friends and relations working for Quinns and none of them have heard this about the local offices being closed.......whats your source ?

Surely employing people in the local offices would be cheaper than employing a workforce in Dublin.....

Surely if the sale process has progressed to having 2 potentail bidders left then theres no way a deal between Anglo & Quinn can now happen............what happens with the 2 bidders left, can we just tell them to feck off we were only messing about selling.......

Ah the whole thing is a mess...............i just wish we'd soon know one way or another.......
