There's a difference between a qualifier being at 2.30 pm and a Leinster semi final. It's a much more high profile game and given the teams haven't been beaten deserves a good time slot which suits as many people looking to go as possible. Any chance of rte doing deferred coverage?

There's an ulster semi final game on Saturday, Leinster semi replay and qualifier games. Surely rte should be pushing for a Saturday game highlights show that night? Why is this never offered to gaa fans when Saturday has become such a big day for games?
Agree on this point re Sat night show. It's bugs me that the Sunday Game spends most of the show highlights of the games they've already shown live, then discusses the same game again, having done so during lie transmissions. Crazy stuff. Then the best football game last weekend was Londford Derry gets two mins. Drives me bonkers

What a horrible shite. The qualifiers are there to give teams a second chance , some take em some don't. At a very best the target for any team outside the normal group (dub, ker, cor, Mayo, tyr and don) to make the quarters

Derry at evens -7 the bet of the weekend 8)

I reckon the stats show it's 2-2 in the championship v the oak leafies. Now for the Larries that's probably one of our best strike rates against any county.

I will be one of the 50. Never been to Celtic Park either , but I did venture to Ballinascreen for an NFL game.

The balls havent exactly thrown up a mouth watering class. Scrap that a and b shite quickly. Never been to Celtic Park, so at least we will see a bit of scenery anyway.

Feeling even worse today, we really kicked that one away. Crazy shot selection, missed frees , turnovers which directly resulted in the concession of 1-4.
I won't agree that Wexford deserved it, when you take ciaran Lyng and waters out of they were poor in a number of areas.
Not much stomach here either for the Qulaifiers. How they started Niall Mulligan when we haven't seen him all year. I think Kavanaghs days in the Jersey are at end too. Paul Barden again the best of us.

I expect 4 games this summer, 3 in Leinster and 1 quick qualifier exit.

I can't understand all of this bravado from my Cavan friends. Favourites for the Division worth laying I'd say.

The stats never lie. Wonderful.
Not a word was said when Granard win 6 in 8 years with 2 clubs and 5 schools to pick from.

GAA Discussion / Michael McDermott - Longford Manager

Can anyone enlighten me on the extent of this mans managerial capabilities? He brought Kilmurray to a club final, Clare to a Munster final but what else. Certainly a strange choice , considering the names that were interviewed.
I'm beginning to think Parkinson was right when he said there's a lot of profile managers who are clearly very good at interview stage.

Great to see the half parish and the small parish land another underage crown to their belts. Tremendous work is being done for years now , those who started the club off must be very happy indeed.

Please stop this Denis Connerton gallop. He had a go! Ciaran Whelan is itching to get a job as isDessie Farrell.

Looks like Chin will be Longford after all . I'll have to find good wifi near Bordeuax to get my qualifier fix in! Up the blue and gold:)

I couldn't help think back to last year and wonder how Limerick have slipped back so much in a year. Div 4 football this season didn't help them. Slow, cumbersome and awful. Longford can be happy with the win and another game against a similar standard opponent (home or away) could give them enough confidence to rattle a big gun in R3 at home. This team is quite experienced but it could be the last hurray for a group of players Barden, Sheridan, Gilleran, Mulligan, McGee.
Mondays draw will be interesting.

Odds are way off. This game is 50/50 with Aughrim an awful kip to play in. If we don't build an early lead we could be in trouble. I see they've done a Seanie Johnston with some free taker from Tipperary.

I don't have too many good memories of Wickla. Up the Larries.  ;D
