Very sad to hear that about Stynes, hope he makes a full recovery.

Just watched Collingwood v Essendon live, Collingwood won well and after a slow start opened a 5 goal lead in 2nd quarter. Collingwoods tenacious tackling was definitly the stand out. Didak a awesome footballer and super creative.  I presume marty clarke is injured as I didnt see him. Top 4 finish likely for magpies now and wont be far away.

I get some hassle when i say im a collingwood fan, supported them since I took an interest in AFL a few yrs ago and wont change, main reason I picked them was there black and white same as Sligo obviously. Anyways watching the game live today several camera shots of the crowd disturbed me, the passion is one thing but the ferocity of some fans with what was clearly abuse of opposing team players looked bad, and it was both sets. Some lads on here go to games, whats it like? Is it just a minority in 77,699 crowd. I see Tom Cruise  was there aswell.

Christ there is no more spitefull and awfull fans in sport outside of soccer than a Collingwood fan, not a sportsman or sportswoman bone in their body, their fans are plain nasty. Good choice SLIGONIAN

What are the little thin red ones that are common in Australia, they are little bastards. I had to rub them in my eyes as a dare in a drinking game, the tears just kept reactivating the burn, bastards.

Love Nandos, have we got them in Ireland, someone told me they where up in Northern Ireland.

Has anyone here ever successfully claimed back bank charges, for items being returned unpaid and going over-drawn when you shouldn't have been and being charged for it??

a friend of mine says she wrote the bank a letter and got refunded a lot of money going back 3 years

anyone know were to start with this, is it worth a go?

Ya just go in to your branch and let them know the charges that where incorrectly charged (thats if they really where incorrect as best to your knowledge) It can take a while for branches to refund as its a fckn nightmare to track back for the poor bastard who has to do it.

Is not Little of Glasgow Rangers (has he made even one first team appearance) not in the North of Ireland squad?

I was querying the omission of what might be termed a regular Celtic first team squad member from the North of Ireland squad while others who cannot feature for their clubs are guaranteed a place in the team apparently

Sure Celtic & Rangers are both SHITE.

General discussion / Re: Road deaths

Has anyone else noticed this that Young drivers speed, middle aged ones drink drive & old ones never learned the rules of the road, yes I know this a minority of each.

The amount of times I have been driving behind an elderly or older driver who is doing just say 70klm p/hr on a 100klm p/hr road, I'm doing say 90-100klm and decide I am going to overtake, then out of the blue while I have my indicators on they turn right, right across the road into a side road, then indicate 5 yards down the road to let me know they have turned. They seem to think its etiquette not a warning , they obviously have not checked behind them either or they would have saw me indicate, would they have still turned if I was overtaking them, probably.

Lucky that I drive under the speed limit & lower if its appropriate, but what chance would that person had, if a boyracer was overtaking them at 120-140klm, I could slow and react but some of those twats haven't a hope in hell of stopping.

Speed, tailgating & dangerous overtaking, why people creep up behind you even though you are at the limit or safest legal fast speed you can go and then try and overtake you approaching a blind bend or a hump in the road when there is clearly not enough time if there is a car coming the other way.

You need to look at this from UTV's and BBC NI's point of view, in covering GAA they already know that probably 60% of their normal potential audience will avoid thse programme straight-off because the subject matter simply isn't for or of them.  Of the remaining 40% or so, some people aren't interested in sport or even pseudo-sport like GAA, so the target audience is quite small. If they aren't going to support the programmes concerned, the BBC has to consider what's value for money and UTV has to consider its advertisers. Neither broadcaster is a charity.

Your some fool, you know that.

Wouldnt it be great if there was a facility on the site where everyones club and county were displayed beside there posts  ;)

I agree nbtd, either that or guess from their username!  ;)
In fairness its easy to guess from most posters... there there is the odd few lurkers that remain an enigma.
Either want to preserve anonymity or they dont want to be found out! :P

Maybe they're from Balla and are too ashamed to admit it  :P

So the snipe is living up to his name ! Balla indeed are not exactly on the crest of a wave presently but of course it takes the sniper hiding behind the keyboard to have a cheap shot. Being such the great cubman yourself I recall you advising FL/Mayo at one stage to send his kids to Breaffy if he moves to Balla parish.  Great work undoubtedly being done in Breaffy and use being made of the population increase in the Castlebar overspill but it's not so long ago that ye were the whipping boys of west Mayo underage, nothing as crass as the nouveau riche.   >:(

Balla abú

Ah will ya relax and take a joke ffs. Talk about bitter bringing up a conversation from months ago and twisting it. I believe what I said was players in a certain area have a choice of going to three clubs - Parke, Breaffy or Balla, which I believe to be the case unless you can tell me otherwise. I told him to send them to Breaffy, just like you'll tell him to send them to Balla. Big deal. How on earth you could jump to daft conclusions about nouveau riche etc is beyond me. You have issues son.

Aren't large chunks of Urban Castlebar actually in Breaffy, sure McHale Park is nearly in Breaffy Parish.

Just curious as to why so many posters in this thread actually support England?

Live in australia for a while and you will see how arrogant them aussies are about cricket!!

I would love to see both teams beat to be honest!!!!

Ya if you ever lived in Australia then you would understand. The Aussie are sickening when it comes to sport. They make the English/Brits almost supportable, but no I wish they both could lose, but Australia even more so.

You see Irishmen supporting English cricket team, English supporting German soccer team & French Rugby team, Scots supporting England, its purely down to how sickening the Aussies are, they have the worst sportsmanship in the entire world. I thought the last Olympics only featured Australia watching it here in Australia.
