Why so bad?

I really hope we tr**p these guys into the ground.  Traditionally any team Boylan puts out always knew how to combine the darker arts, so lets hope they pay back for what happened Graham Geraghty 2 years ago.

My memories of Australian women form a previous trip would certainly not let me be bitter and i think in general thats the reason many nations around the world love going to Oz (all done in the name of Sport) We wiish the Irish team a successful trip and also good luck at the Compromise rules as well.

So we play the convicts and they compare us to leprechauns.  Before going into renovating this series we should have been asking is their a basic level of respect there from either side.  The Australians obviously dont respect the irsih and how are we as Irish with our history to accord respect to a people who stole the land of their indigenous inhabitants - not a bad bit of colonisation for a nation of convicts.  Its like us playing the brits in the sun..

Final clonoe V Dromore
I thought Ardboe were crap last Sunday night but I am now starting to sense that this Dromore team will be giving trouble to a Clonoe team apparently destined for the O Neill Cup.  After witnessing the game against Donaghmore I wouldnt have the faith in Clonoe that I had before this game.  Why? wel  if Donaghmore didnt suffer from chronic finalphobia they would have won the game but instead shot themselves in the foot yet again - they can beat any team in the  county at any stage unless its a semifinal. Clonoe won the game but only just and I also though that Cassidy looks to be much to hesitant on the line.  Next years Derry job will certainly stretch him.
Dromore look as capable of winning the handiest 2 in a row in history as anyone.  They still havent had to beat Carmen or Errigal Keiran - one would wonder are the big teams kept apart in the draw until the final. I expect Ardboe to take the minors as that talent in any club team is frightening.  My prediction Dromore by 5 and Ardboe by 5.
I read a local newspaper today and a GAA scribe in it today mentions GAA board sites in it -Thinks a court case is inevitable and neccessary to regulate these boards.  If they were to close I dont know where these guys would get their information from as an awful lot of them seem to report on secondary information provided on the net and through networks of gossip from people with chips on their shoulders - the days of the hard working journo may be over then.    What do you think O/m - if these boards were to close would the info dry up? How would the pages be filled?

Have you still one for sale???  ;)
I predict 2 great games this weekend.
Clonoe V Donaghmore: Clonoe are undoubtedly the coming force of Tyrone football, and they truly are a breath of fresh air for East Tyrone.  When you read the papers it is unbelievable how much belief Damian Cassidy has in this side and the Derry manager looks set to annex the Tyrone crown and confirm his convictions.  Talking to a Clonoe player at the Dromore game and they are totally focussed on the silverware this year.  Donaghmore looked reasonable againstKildress were poor and blew up on the day.  Without Mc Ginn I simply cant see where Donaghmore are goinjg to get the scores from a -  2 -3  point win for Clonoe in a great game of football.  For Donaghmore by my count a 5th semi final in 10 years will demonstrate their incredible consistency but also show they are still a couple of personnell short.
Ardboe V Dromore
Write off Kyle, Brian, Frank, Tommy, Nishy, Mickey C, Big John at your peril Dromore.  Personnel wise I cant see Ardboe being beat, Team wise I cant see Dromore being beaten.   Having witnessed some of the "mannerisms" of the Dromore defence to date this year, do they really think a proud club like Ardboe will let thisaffect them.  This tie has all the appeal of an x rated thriller on a dark winters night in front of the fire with the curtains closed.  Ardboe will take Dromore because of their superior tradition and pound for pound better footballers, who first showed their potential when they were kids in 98 but havent had the opportunity to shine until now. Ardboe by 4 after estra time to set up a dream loughshore final which will be played in Edendork.

the Tyrone senior football final will in all likelihood be between Clonoe and Dromore - this should be a must see battle with Dromore facing a cracking young club side.  It just may cast some insight into the conveyor belt available to Tyrone boss Mickey Harte.  A great tv choice tg4.

Seen most of the games over the weekend.  Heres what I saw

1) Donaghmore V Kildress.  Kildress just didnt weigh in.  Donaghmore didnt impress me that much.   It was a case of poor performance and some poor decision making.  Donaghmore need Mc Ginn back to have any hope.
2) Clonoe V Dromore.  Great championship tie. Dromore should still be favourites for the championship but when you beat Errigal and Carmen you deserve to be winning the thing.
3) Eglish V ardboe - I heard Ardboe and Coney in particular controlled this game throughout.  Definitely got a chance to repeat the heroics of the men of 98.
4) Dromore V Coalisland.  Despite losing Mc nabb for the rest of the  Tyrone season Dromore have plenty of good stuff to come in but will face a real battle against Ardboe and ultimately Clonoe to retain their crown.

Tyrone have won three All Irelands with a mixture of some very good and some very ordinary players. Their success does not rest with brilliant individual talent. At least five of the side that beat Kerry on September 21 would struggle to make the Tralee John Mitchels' side of the 1960s. Kerry have far better quality, but it is not paying off.

Jody Gormley in GL a couple of weeks ago quoted Chris Lawn at 4 00 in the morning as saying

..they just will never get it...

As long as the Kerrymen still believe they have the better footballers we will keep handing them their asses in croke Park.  Keep believing folks - its fun to watch.
