Please God let the 2nd half be better, it can't be much worse!

Interesting to see Joe, Cian Ward and Queeney are tearing things up in the Meath championship this year.
I can imagine there might be a reluctance to go back that way but their experience on the bench wouldn't hurt. I don't think Joey Wallace is ready yet nor McMahon.

And so it comes to this again.
A lot of big questions to be answered.
Can we sustain the necessary intensity for 72 minutes (exactly)?
Can we limit the Dubs to 2 goals or less?
Will we go man for man or drop a forward back?
Does Michael Daragh MacAuley still eat chicken with his pre-match meal?
Good questions. I do believe meath will maintain the intensity but that Dublin's intensity is greater. Dubs to take at least 2 goals chances. Meath must convert nearly all their chances . There will be chances aplenty at both ends.
And the chicken?

You do all know this will be a draw dont you? Its all set up for it. Garth Brooks playing the next weekend, no Croker available, all the hassle with the residents and the GAA greed, etc. etc. Its BOUND to happen now. there should be a new thread now, Leinster final replay-3rd August. And we have a good record in replays....
Yes but a good record in draws is not really a convincing argument that the current Meath team will beat the current Dublin team over two games.
Meath's chance is to upset the formbook and beat Dublin on the day. Catching Dublin cold on two occasions won't happen.

I think it was primarily the third option Hardy.
Reminded me of the game against Wexford a few years ago when we coughed up a 10 point lead.
I very much got a sense of 'that's it now lads, the game is won' after our scoring burst at the start of the 2nd half.
The intensity dropped off by about 10% and lads like Ollie Lyons started pushing through the middle, with lads dropping back in numbers but not actually tackling with any real bite.
Kildare kicked a couple of points and then the crowd started getting behind them.
They started winning all the breaks around the middle and started pouring through in numbers.
We were content to pull back around 'the D' and invite them onto us, which is crazy stuff.
I was roaring at the line to go with short kick-outs (which they eventually did) as every kick that landed out around the middle was coming straight back in.
We needed to tap over one or two simple scores in that period to break their momentum.
That said, delighted with the win.
The young lads that came in did well but they are very lightweight.
I liked the look of Flanagan, he could be a serious player if/when he fills out.
