I don't think J Leahy of Mullinahone fame is from 'up North' and his comment to a Galway hurler in an AI semi-final  in the late 80's or possibly early 90's has yet to be bettered in terms of scumminess.

You can't tease us like that johnneycool!

Not sure. Vincent's played a very fast game and led from start to finish I think. Cross seemed to struggle to handle some speedsters in the Vincent's forward line. Crokes would have some similar operators - Looney is in the form of his life.

Jez get over yourselves, a lot of shite talk goes on during any match not to mention an Ulster club final, im not condoning any racist remarks by anybody from Kilcoo but it goes on with both sides.

You are thus implying that every club in Ireland contains a smattering of racists.

Possibly true, but surely if we want to spread the game among other ethnic groups in Ireland, then it needs to be blotted out asap.

Its amazing the lengths people will got to win a football match these days.

Unfortunately a lot of these types of nasty verbals started in the early part of this century. up North.

It's never been dealt with by the GAA either then or now.

Now when it moves into the realms of racism its a new low for the Association . Younger players are very impressionable and if they see this as acceptable then the game is in big trouble.

Agreed but I think it's very difficult to police. Descends into farcical kind of arguments about the tone of the comment, as was seen in the Suarez case where he was arguing that the word negrito was a term of affection in South America. Real nit picking stuff. But this Aaron Cunningham case seems quite black and white. Ha!

Interesting that on the same day when, in my view, Castlehaven were an absolute disgrace to Cork football and all it stands for, that your clear implication is that Kilcoo performed the exact same role in disgracing Down football.

Haven't seen the Cross Kilcoo match yet.

Shaping up like 2 very good semi finals. I fancy Ballymun to beat Portlaoise and I would fancy a Cross v Crokes AI final.

Fancy Portlaoise to beat Ballymun myself but I agree on your final pairing.

The London winners alternate each year playing the winners of one of the Irish provinces. Logically they should be inserted into Munster or Connacht at an earlier stage, as the London "county" team is.

Very true. Surely this has been proposed at some stage?

They might even do better as well. In Munster this year I reckon Tir Chonaill Gaels could have given Stradbally (Waterford), Castlehaven, Clonmel Commercials and the Limerick champs whose name escapes me a decent game. Crokes and KIB would probably be a cut above them.

Cross have been beaten by Vincents and  Kilmacud Crokes in recent years. They are not invincible. Brigids have a lot of very good footballers and Cross haven't really been tested yet in my estimation. Here's me thinking they have an Ulster Final to play as well!!

Stretching the definition of recent there. The Vincents game was five years ago, ffs. At least half of that Cross team has been replaced.

I do think that Cross-Vincent's game from February 2008 would be a good template for other teams on how to beat Cross. Admittedly, some of that team has been replaced but their style of football has not changed massively over the years

Crossmaglen players were racially abusing one of our defenders after we scored our goal but we didn't feel the need to run to the BBC to complain, its a big boys game.

There's some of the most foul shite imaginable talked in the English Premiership in the soccer, but they still come down heavily on racism.

Was on the gaastore there and they are selling nike and adidas tops with the old county council logos on them instead of the trademarked gaa county ones. Is this a recent development or have they been at this for a while? Was gonna order a couple of hurlógs but that has put me right off.
Called into their store on Friday evening can't say I was impressed - the shop has gone to shit.

Went to pick up a replica club jersey (they stock North Armagh club gear) but they had none left and was told they wouldn't be ordering any more in.

When I asked why, the reason I was given was because they were going to be doing their own-brand club gear or something to that effect. I don't know if my club has authorised it and if so fair enough but given what they have done with Nike/Adidas gear and stupid made up logos, I'll be disappointed if they do something similar with club gear.

The stuff looks on their site looks terrible, who wants a Nike jacket with a bastardised Armagh crest, or an Adidas hoodie with a made up Donegal crest? Who even buys that crap? They're ordering in bulk cheap Nike/Adidas/Puma etc merchandise and sewing on these crests and selling them on. Pile of shite.

Agreed with all of above. Used to be very good.

Are they even allowed legally to be bastardising county crests like the below?

Hi guys, my tactical analysis of today's win for Dr Crokes is now up http://action81.com/blog/?p=6490

Interesting analysis as always Emmet. You ever get on to any newspapers, Gaelic Life anything like that about having your own column?

The Munster Council could pull up Castlehaven for their behaviour in today's Munster club final, which was pretty disgraceful.

Horrendous team Castlehaven, the lack of many real challenges in Munster could hurt Crokes down the line.

What went on ?

If the referee was doing his job about 4 or 5 Castlehaven players should have been sent off. Late tackles every thirty seconds, off the ball belting, kneeing or kicking guys on the ground.

They were pathetic in every respect.

Earlier this year, two footballers from the Duffry Rovers club in Wexford were suspended for two months each after being found guilty of racially abusing Wexford underage dual player Lee Chin.

Why only two months? Surely about six months would be more appropriate.

Does the GAA have anything in the rule book about racism? If they don't they should.

Plenty of those Sheehan lads floating around St Gall's.

I wonder were they of Kerry ancestry? The Charles Millers of their day ( English guy who introduced the Brazilians to soccer) !

I would have thought that surname was confined to around the Munster area. It would not be a usual surname in Ulster? Or am I mistaken?
