Lads, I am in Glasgow on Easter Saturday for the Old Firm, what would be your best bet for getting tickets as a non season ticket holder? A longshot I do realise, but no harm in asking.
Alternatively what Glasgow boozer would be best? Thanks

Send me a message and i will see what i can do

The whole trans situation is really getting out of hand, and its becoming dangerous. When these trans people can enter into changing rooms and bathrooms of the opposite sex then this is very worrying and potentially dangerous.

Anyone who agrees with the whole trans thing really needs their head looked at. These people are mentally unwell, i can't walk into the bank and ask for 1 million quid, because I identify as a millionaire. You are born with a set of reproductive organs and a DNA trail of a certain gender 99.9% of the time(i know there is a small chance you can be born with both sex organs). To then turn around and say you identify as something other than your biological makeup has be down to a mental disorder. These people think in their heads they are something other than they are.

These trans people are a very small percentage of the population, and the majority of the rest of the population is having their human rights violated to uphold the crazy rights these trans people are expecting.

I know this might come across s offensive to some people, and this has not been my intention. I am really curious to what others think about the whole situation??

Hi all, hope I'm not posting in the wrong thread here - didn't want to make another one, but let me know if it is and I'll create a weight loss or similar thread.

Was hoping for a bit of advice if anyone has had similar experience

I am getting married in 2024 and I've tried to start the fitness journey every Monday this year (and for the last couple of years).

About 3 stone heavier than I was when I played sport (GAA and soccer) and did CrossFit. Late late 20s male (big 3-0 this summer).

Biggest issue is consistency. I am embarrassed to attend my local CrossFit gym as I am very self conscious (overweight but far from obese, 6ft 1 and 17 stone) as if everyone is looking at me.

My other local gym is just come and go as you please and I tried this before Xmas also but I found it the opposite then - no drive to go in and it's usually empty.

I thought the class based gyms were good when I lived in down south  a few years ago but I find myself cancelling them as the evening approaches at 5/6pm I make the excuse I'm too busy in work. (I work from home and go into the office one day per week).

I have never been a morning person who can get up and go to 6/7am classes as hard as I've tried every method in the book.

I used to be quite fit and now I'm out of breath going up a hill and I'm not even 30 yet! Embarrassing.
It's got to the stage I don't play 5 a side with the lads anymore as I don't feel comfortable in my shorts/t shirt even though there are plenty of lads heavier than me at it (it's not a high level!)

I know it's all about small steps. If I was honest I can train quite well and push myself if I can even get myself to go 3 times a week. But it's my diet. I am brutal for emotional eating / boredom eating . Especially chocolate

Fair play to you for taking the steps to get back into a bit of shape. I don't want to be a spoil sport or put a downer on you but the harsh reality is it is going to be extremely tough to loose weight. It is going to take a massive behaviour change and a serious effort to go out and exercise- may that be a walk, run, gym, 5 a side.

I personally balloon up over the off season with football, and find myself looking in the mirror at the start of jan 1+ stone over the weight i should be at. I find meal planning helps keep me on the straight and narrow during the weekdays. I make 10 portions of chicken with lots of veg ( 1 lunch/1 dinner) and throw in half a packet of mircowave rice each meal. It can get boring but at least you know that you are getting all your nutritional value throughout the week, as well as staying in a calorie deficit.

I think going to a train professional always helps, as they can set you out a program tailored to your own needs. It can be costly (2/300 per month), but because you are paying the money, you feel obliged to stick to it- plus you have someone to answer to at the end of each week and you cant pull the wool over their eyes.

Its not going to be a walk in the park, but trust me when i say the first 1/2 weeks will be the most difficult. Once you get over the initial shock to the system, and come to terms what is expected off you, then you will start to push on. After the first 1/2 weeks, when you start seeing results, it spurs you on to want more and more.

Finally, we are all human. Don't beat yourself up for over indulging the odd time. Enjoy a cheat meal on a saturday night, eat a few biscuits and bag of crisps on a sunday evening. Think of it as a 5/6/7 month plan, you mightn't loose weight every week, but if you loose weight 3 out of every 4 weeks, or even 2 out of every 4 weeks, after 5/6/7 months it all adds up.

All the best!!!

Heading down to Kerry on Saturday to watch the football. Staying in Kilarney, what is my best way getting to and from the Tralee to watch the match?

Hi Lads

Just a quick one for anyone out there who can give me some advise, it would be greatly appreciated!

Basically me and my girlfriend have both graduated from uni (herself this year and me last year) and are looking to head over to america for a year or two to work and live. I have been in contact with a number of companies over there and they are more than happy to offer me a job in my sector. What sort of visa should i be looking for? I have heard that is is very difficult for a company to sponsor an employee to come over.

Also, the J1 visa's and esta visa are only short term, i know you can only stay in the country for 90 days at a time before leaving it over a period of 2 years.

I see some recent debate in various places with regard to football on a Friday night.

I have often thought how fortunate we are in Down to play our football on a Friday night for most of the year. Train Monday & Wednesday. Match Friday.

Some counties may not have the luxury of being able to make such a move with vast travelling distances involved.

Work is so much more enjoyable on a Friday knowing you have the game to look forward to that evening. Whatever the weekend holds in store, the game on a Friday night can turn a good weekend into a great one.

Not surprised to see the likes of Tyrone making the change this year and trust this is popular with players and spectators alike.

I totally agree with you in regards to Friday night games. I play club football in Armagh and all of our games are fixed for 2pm Sunday for the rest of the summer. It makes for a long boring weekend. We train on a Friday night, and then i spend most of my Saturday sitting about the house trying to put the day in, while firing as much water and pasta into me as I can. It's difficult especially when half of my friends group play their football in Tyrone. They can all head out to the pubs or whatever and have a pint and the craic while enjoying the good weather in a beer garden. It makes it even more difficult when there is sport on a Saturday evening as it would be nice to take a few pints while watching it. Not looking forward to the Euros for this particular reason. I work hard Monday-Friday and work close to 50 hours a week and feel like I've wasted the weekend by sitting in the house and doing nothing but waiting. As I work in Belfast, having a couple of drinks on a Sunday just isn't worth it, as I'm up from 530am and I will suffer for the rest of the day/week.
After the year we have all had it would be nice to have the weekends to yourself to do as you please. I have a christening this weekend and again I will be going tea total while the rest of my friends/family enjoy the craic and a drink. I have played football from i was 4 years of age with my club, but I am seriously considering dropping off the panel this year., The rest of the summer is looking pretty grim and i really don't know if it is worth the sacrifice anymore, I don't enjoy it like i used to as it is becoming more of a chore than anything.

Hi Lads

Sorry if i come across as a complete idiot but i need some advice if possible. Im a young lads with around 3/4k saved in the bank. I am hearing and reading rave reviews about investing in cryptocurrency(mainly bitcoin). Would this be a good investment to make? Can i take my money out anytime i want? My money is taking no hurt sitting in my credit union, but it would be nice to make my money work for me and maybe make a few quid. All advice is greatly appreciated 😊

Some of the comments on here about Chelsea are laughable.

Havertz has been very good in the games we have seen him so far. Same can be said for Werner. Both look world class and premier league greats in years to come.

Armagh sweating on a major injury blow for tomorrow. Key player picked up a nasty knock last week in training and it is looking likely he will miss out. Fuckkkkkkk

Some of the talk on here is shambolic  ;D Yes Donegal are a great team. Yes Donegal are a better team than Armagh. But lets take the conditions into it. Heavy pitch, heavy ball, wet day- imo is a leveler. It would take a hell of a performance from armagh but if they can snuff Murphy and Brennan out then i feel they have as good a chance as anyone of winning. Keep it tight and don't concede silly frees and who knows. Armagh certainly have the fire power up front to do damage and score goals. Look at what happened Donegal when tyrone pushed up on them on a wet day. They forced errors and turn overs. A  large percentage of tyrones scores- including the goal, came from Donegal errors. Off the top of my head i can count tyrone scoring 1-5 through pushing up and gettign at Donegal

Some of the replies on here would make you laugh. What the police officer done was wrong and he should and will be punished for it.
I can understand the protests, these people are well entitled to protest. HOWEVER, once the rioting and looting starts then these people deserve all they get. The USA is at breaking point, and the president needs to get some law and order back, and if this means shooting these idiots who are looting then so be it. These people are using the death of this young black man as an excuse to cause havoc and for their own personal gain. Although i do not always agree with Mr.Trump, i have to agree with him on this one. Its time to get these thugs under control before they burn these cities to the ground
