Anyways .............. according to Jamie Weir - it sounds like our new Open champion is off to follow Greg Norman and the LIV lads along with fellow Aussies Adam Scott and Marc Leishman.

And Henrik Stenson who will be getting stripped of his Ryder Cup captaincy.
Stenson news is mad. When was he last competitive? I presume he didn't expect the Euro tour to act so quickly and decisively. Delighted they did.

Cam was clearly not ruling it out in his after match interview.

I'd have thought Stenson would have been a major coup for LIV - a Ryder cup captain defecting & the PR that would come from that more so than what he can bring to the tour in a competitive golf capacity, the sums of money are colossal, Pat Perez picked up just over $900k in Portland for finishing 34th but his team winning the team prize.

Rory has been around quite a while now, but just look at how many have come and gone while Rory is still up there? Dustin, Brooks, De Chambow have hd spells at the top but all fade while Rory is still up there.

I think that's the point yet he still only has as many majors as someone like Koepka. Rory did nothing wrong today but he didn't do much right either and apart from his 80 back in 2010 today was his worst competitive round at St Andrews and the conditions were perfect. He should have about double the majors with his talent but he is in good company. Look at seve and all his natural ability and he won 5 instead of over 10 and plenty of other top players with none or just one

He played bogey free, hit every green in regulation, his longest par putt couldn't have been anymore than 3 feet, he ran into a burner of a putter in Smith today.

He shot a 73 yesterday - I can't imagine that was in the playbook of playing the best golf all week.

His putter went on a phenomenal hot run today & that's the reason he's lifting the claret jug instead of Rory.

If you also think Rory isn't able to win future majors your mad!

Hahaha "the best choker (north down) ever produced" is back

You're a strange cat taking that level of satisfaction from Rory not winning.

Having absolutely no personal knowledge of the lads coaching you've managed to totally write it off whilst also saying he was a very poor keeper - madness of the highest order.

I think your playing the man not the ball - he's well in with a shout here in this US Open & your being overly critical of a performance without the context of the testing course.

Ridiculous hole out from scheffler. His second this week. Meanwhile Rory playing himself out of contention for tomorrow so he can shoot a meaningless 65

There are 5 players under par today at present & you choose to pick Rory out as playing himself out of it - madness!

You do realise that Derry to Belfast road will be immeasurably improved well ahead of any Casement build, and should take you 30 minutes less to travel despite being a longer distance trip.

Such a silly argument!

No measure of course, but I was talking to a guy who does paving (patios etc) this morn, and he said he sees it slowing down - people not spending money on their houses on the same way now. Prices starting to bite perhaps.
Sell sell sell!

That's been a massive growth industry during & post lockdown as nowhere really viable to go on holiday etc

Same was seen in kitchen / bathroom & general home improvement sales

Now people want to go on holiday again so that money is being displaced elsewhere.

The housing market absolutely needs a correction but there is limited land availability coupled with infrastructure challenges means the supply in the short to medium term is not going to keep pace with demand unfortunately - valuations & interest rate hikes affecting affordability will be the ultimate kingmakers in the housing sector.

I couldn't get tickets so far either. I don't care about going but my father has watched Derry for over 50 years. The annoying thing is that my local club don't make it easy to become a member. They don't seem to go around doors selling membership like they used to do. I think the game should have been in Croke Park

Strange view that your father can't get membership as the club don't go door to door... surely your aware of the individual's involved with the club and a message could soon sort out payment of membership, hardly the fault of the club here.

What a completely idiotic statement Clarshack, seriously!

Clarshack I think you should clarify the £65 psf comment as it can be quite misleading to some posters.

Is the £65 psf you paid only for the superstructure? Was a majority of the work carried out by yourself & therefore labour for various trades not factored in to this so it looks artificially low? Does it include utility connection costs?

It's an extremely competitive build rate you achieved.

I think you'd be well served copping yourself on with comments like those.
