Brian Rafferty! he'd have a sore face today if Leo Meenan hadn't a fence between them.

This fella doesn't need a few pints to act the idiot to be fair. I'd say coalisland ones are pretty ashamed of his actions. Hopefully they hand down some kind of suspension no matter how difficult to police.
I agree it would be impossible for any club to police their 'followers' at any big game, however when an incident like this does occur the club involves need to make it clear that they do not condone such cowardly actions and ban the individual from further club involvement. Although I'm sure BR doesn't form much part of the Na Fianna club.
Quote from: WT4E on October 24, 2016, 11:10:06 AMA so called 'gael' punching a player from behind whilst he was attempting to take a line ball is a disgrace, I trust Na Fianna will investigate and take appropriate action.Quote from: Gaffer on October 23, 2016, 11:40:35 PM
So it happened during the match???
Did someone not say earlier it happened during the celebrations after the match?
Happened during the match - I was listening on the radio and Damian Harvey pointed it out saying it was crazy!

I didn't say there is a different set of rules nor do I condone striking in the face. My point is that he was making a shoulder challenge and he may have caught him high but there was no malice behind it which is obviously part of the reason it was rescinded. If the linesman had any cop on he would have seen that.
Anyway all to play for this weekend, lets just hope the refereeing doesn't get in the way of a good game!
Quote from: hardstation on September 26, 2016, 04:07:51 PMI agree the black card was the correct call, Peter Donnelly's red was a tad harsh.Quote from: CC on September 26, 2016, 12:50:13 PMDidn't see the red but Clonoe's black card was a black card all day long.Quote from: Moortown Spuds on September 26, 2016, 12:13:20 PMQuote from: The Golden Years on September 26, 2016, 11:50:23 AM
After watching the two semi finals over the weekend i have come to the conclusion that the standard of club football in tyrone as dropped. Although it may be competitive and quite a number of teams have a realistic change of winning from the start, i do think skill levels have went down. The reasoning for this has to be put surely to blame on defensive systems that teams put in place where stopping the other team from playing is nearly is as important as scoring yourself. Just my opinion.
Aye but entertainment has been deadly.
The standard of refereeing this year has been a joke! ...no more free flowing, hard hitting fair football.
Its now stop/start slow tempo football due to whistle happy refs which takes away from the entertainment but that's just the way the game is going (Tyrone football isn't lacking in skill). It's no coincidence the number of points from free's in yesterday's semi which was fairly well disciplined for a local derby.
Fianna red and clonoe black both very harsh IMO.
Ref's don't have an easy job but in what case does common sense prevail in officiating a game nowadays??
Let the lads play!!

Let sparky play corner for Tyrone and play him the ball,,scores will surely come....simple me thinks!
But whose going to defend you mad man?
Quote from: skeog on September 26, 2016, 01:22:16 PMExactly,... once bitten and all that, Killyclogher will destroy either victor from the east.
Aye they thought that last year look what happened.
