According to the Irish News today, Joe McMahon may miss the entire league campaign, although he could be in contention in about a month's time. That's a big blow. On a brighter note, Justy and the block are in contention for Killarney.

I thought only Morgan, Mattie and Ronan O'Neill played well on Sunday. The 2 inside forwards had a bad day at the office and although Emmet McKenna took his scores well, his ball handling was rank. Colm put in a decent shift, but midfield was cleaned out as per usual. The amount of times Kildare anticipated the break or where it was going to go was impressive, or else we were just inept. The defense is a mystery. I would say 2,3,4,5 & 7 are all up for grabs, presuming the beard is going to persist with Pete at 6. I hope he moves him into the forwards myself. Approaching our 4th game in the league, to have every defensive jersey up for grabs is worrying. Big Joe and Gormley cert championship starters surely....If Justy could only get himself fit, he would definitely be in contention as well. Lets see what team is named on Thursday night.

The Barkley toe injury was put down as 3-5 weeks. Not as serious as the fracture Baines picked up before Christmas where he was out for 5 weeks. I am being very optimistic here, but even if we got a half hour out of him...I live in hope.

Baines signs a new 4 year contract. Nice boost for us heading into the derby. Seriously hope that Pienaar and Coleman are fit for selection and young Barkley can play a part.

Comfortable home win today. Hopefully Barkley won't be out for too long. We are playing with some confidence at the minute. So we've signed McGeady on a 4.5 year deal. He's clearly carrying a bit of timber and won't be fit for a few weeks. I'd say the russians got a minimal fee to cover the last few months of his contract. Was never that big a fan but Martinez rates him highly. I hope he can get the best out of him. Keane watching at Goodison today. Himself and O'Neill will be regular visitors now...

We are being linked with Shane Long and McGeady. That would be some amount of Irish players. Probably even a bigger contingent than we had back in the '50s. I'm a fan of Shane Long. Good, hard working striker, but he wouldn't be cheap. McGeady if we got on the cheap might work out. I think Martinez is getting the maximum out of all his players. Exciting times indeed. 6 points needed over the festive season.

I am concerned about Tyrone's free taking. McCurry is accurate from close range on the left...Stevie may take the ones from further out. Sean will take all from the right side. He scores more than he misses but I think on Sunday, all frees need to sailing over the black spot. McAliskey strikes a lovely dead ball, so hopefully he gets the 45s, though Joe scores the odd toe poke. A few early wides will be like a serious boot in the balls. It'll knock the stuffing out of us.

To whom it may concern, you have omitted Joe McMahon from your proposed lineup. I'm guessing that was an oversight. He was excellent on Saturday night in Newbridge and is a certain starter. Where though, beard only knows....

Cassidy was excellent on Saturday night when introduced but it wouldn't surprise me if beard gave Colm another chance. He was putrid in Newbridge. Can't remember him having the ball in hand once, but I still think he'll get another go. Them Meath lads in the middle are big hallions. Was also surprised Carlin was preferred to Justy as first defensive sub. He looked very shaky. Coney and McAliskey both ahead of Ronan O'Neill now it would appear and that's probably fair enough. Still think young O'Neill could have a part to play as he's a shoot on sight man.

I think the extra week's rest will be a factor for Tyrone. Can you imagine playing for 70 minutes at full tilt in these conditions? I am struggling to get a bottle of supremely chilled pinot grigio down me face in this heat. Only Stevie and McCurry in that front 6 are swing and shoot men. The other 4 are workers. This concerns me. It always concerns me, but there are shooters on the bench. I expect to see Ronan O'Neill, McAliskey and Coney make an appearance if the game is tight. We need a big game from Sean. Really looking forward to the game. Second journey down to Newbridge in 2013. I fully expect to make the quarter finals in August...but this will be tense.

6pm throw in. Load a balls that. Lucky to get out of Roscommon by 8...Looks like I'll have to use my one opt out on the season ticket for this game. Gutted. I thought after a trip to Offaly on Saturday we'd be lucky enough to get a home draw. No chance. There was really good red hand support in Tullaghmore and the early throw in time was obviously a factor. Can't see the same crowds travelling...

A triumphant return. New song's a cracker.

I will be happy if Martinez gets the job. He is young and ambitious and will hopefully take us onto the next level. His attacking style of football will be most welcome at Goodison Park. He will have better resources to work with, more moolah and most importantly a quality, settled defense.

That first half was unbelievably dire from a Tyrone perspective. Sean Cavanagh was screaming over at the bench when Tomas O Se palmed the ball in, somebody do something. O'Se had just reeked pure havoc for 35 minutes scoring 1-2 i think. The system of McNiece marking space was horribly exposed and Kerry made hay. The 2 wing backs had a really bad day and Pete Harte fumbled everything that came his way. Full back line couldn't deal with the quality of the ball coming in. So many questions need answering after that. Better in the second half yes, but that first 35 is all I can think about...disgraceful
