Most seem to expect Galbally to beat Pomeroy in this weekend's final but anything can happen especially as Pomeroy will feel aggrieved losing Frank Burns and have recent experience of winning championships titles at this level.  Last weekends result does sow a little bit of doubt in the Pearses league title aspirations as they've tough away games V Loughmacrory and Greencastle which are never ever straightforward. What I've seen of them this year is that they're a well organised, clinical team but will maybe get the jitters when it really matters.

The junior final is another tough one to call but think the Tones will be victorious coming through with the bare minimum to spare.

Why did the county board not just run off a round of league fixtures on Saturday past at those times which would have allowed everyone be in front of a television screen for Donegal v Mayo on the Saturday evening at 6pm.  Then run the reserve Q/F this Friday night allowing people to make an All Ireland football Semi final weekend out of it in Dublin. By the time many away teams are back in their own parishes the Dublin/Mayo game will be done and dusted as that throw in is at 5pm.

Because they had to account for the possibility that the Tyrone U20's could have been in the All-Ireland final on Saturday past. Once they lost their semi final it would have been very short notice to fix games for the following Saturday. We have now had a couple of week's notice that games were going to be fixed for the weekend of 10/11 August.

A bit of foresight maybe to account for u20 involvement in a final or not a few weeks ago would have sorted that out easy.
One positive out of Tyrone being beaten yesterday is that clubs won't have to play the day after an all ireland semi final plus the county lads won't  be pressurised to play less than 24 hours after playing Mayo for their clubs.  Saturday past was the way to go end of story people.

Ever hear of a record button mate?

I'd much prefer to be in Croke Park on Saturday evening to be honest watching it in real time. It's not Netflix ffs

It was 1-10 to 1-08 with 25 mins gone in second half then McNulty scored his goal to wrap it up. I

Need to get promoted quickly to take advantage of a weak carrickmore team ....
By the time they get promoted we shall be back firing on all cylinders  ;)

There's maybe as good a chance of Carrickmore joining Loughmacrory in Division 2 as there is of Lough gaining promotion to Division 1 in the next year or two!!  I definitely wouldn't like to see Carrickmore out of Division 1, but the next few years are going to be crucial for them to integrate their talented youth teams on to the senior squad & then stepping it up another level to become as successful as the teams in the late 90's early 00's.  A big challenge for the incoming management who ever they are.

I'm really looking forward to this weekends championship finals.  Always have admired Coalisland's attacking philosophy & it's what has got them over the line in each of this years championship wins.  McKernan V Bradley will be a very interesting tussle. Two years ago Bradley got the upper hand but McKernan has matured a lot since then.  Killyclogher are difficult to break down and they'll need big performances from Connal McCann and Nathan Donnelly. Killyclogher to shade it with the bare minimum to spare.

Intermediate final, Tattyreagh's experience of playing in 2 championship finals is bound to stand to them but Augher's recent experience in Division 1 will be a major advantage.  Darragh Cavanagh will get some close attention from either Armstrong or Murray.  Darragh Donnelly has also weighed in with some big scores for Augher but the main battle will be in the middle of the field where Johnny Harkin & McElroy lock horns. Cassidy is a major blow to Augher and for that reason I'm going to tip Tattyreagh to make the step up to senior football!!

Are you sure Errigal 3rd have been in Division 2??  Im nearly sure they havent but correct me if Im wrong

Don't believe that Errigal III have been in intermediate but Errigal II won promotion in round 1990 or 91 with the Canavans & Mickey Harte all playing.

There wouldn't be an issue for Errigal thirds winning the Division 3 championship and getting promoted to Division 2 however they would not be able to play in the Ulster club championship.  I would doubt if they would be able to be promoted to Division 1 if they were ever to win an Intermediate league or championship. You still give great credit to the Errigal club for being able to provide competitive football for the players in their 4 parishes.

The county board just want to get the minors read up so that it doesn't impact on Under 16's which is due to start on Friday therefore any requests for changes were flatly refused.

I've heard reports of another club only receiving 12 tickets, 4 of those being for the stand!  Its outrageous to think that these tickets could have been bought by any slack jawed yokle with nil involvement with their club in the like of Supervalue yet the grass roots workers-players-coaches won't be catered for & will probably end up falling out with each other over who got what!
