This isnt really gonna be the best players out of the tournament when they played in it. Most people will just pick players based on what they have achieved for their county. Like who is gonna remember what a particualr player played like when they were a minor

I found with the game that generally it lacked sufficient detail on topics other than football. The hurling section usually only had fixtures and the odd article on down or antrim, nothing on the other counties. The camogie section was worse and the ladies football wasnt great either. Although, i have to say i only bought the game for the handball section and Chris Curran always managed a page or two when there was very little to write about.

There's little you can do at this time of year. Although you can fix the match for a dry day the pitch is still going to be heavy and cut up easy. I remember we played St Johns in 2004 in late november and drew with them. The replay was fixed about 4 times and had to be called off every time. We were even going to play on a tuesday during the mid term break for the schools. It was delayed that much that the replay wasnt untill the week before Easter and the final was the week after. By the time we actually played the game some of the lads had turned 19! and were playin the 2004 Minor Championship 3 months into 2005!

The pitch was still terrible and was cut up in about 10 mins. We wernt allowed to warm up on it and had to warm up in a field with sheep and cows in it accross the road. Ballinascreen pitch is just a poor field that floods easily. However if they play it up on the new back pitch they would be fine. I played there this year for the school and it was great, nice and wide too. But there is no viewing facilities and the stand is down on the other pitch so it remains to be seen how they will cope.

OK back to Sam...if a team mouths at him he will literally rob them blind but skull a man and you get away with it lol!

I remember one time a massive brawl broke out with all players and mentors kickin the crap outta each other. Instead of dishin out a few cards or abandoning the match he grabbed the ball and sat on it in the middle of the field and says "You might get tired fightin lads, but il not get tired watchin!"

Wat a legend!

I stand corrected, he scored them from play but im sure it was only two because he didnt start the replay and if someone came on in the 2nd half and swung over 3 minors they'd definitely start the next day. Recalling the one with the outside of the boot...i think it was one of his first touches and was his first intercounty point and all i can say is...what a way to arrive on the big stage. I was sitting just behind it and you could see as soon as he got hands on the ball he was going for it, it went outside the post and curled back in, pure leathal lak!

Where did this news of needing reconstruction of the knee come from. Jesus John Toal and Micheal Owen didn't even need total reconstruction and look what happened them. Anyways when did this injury happen because it couldn't be burnout as he wouldn't even have been able to put pressure on it so it aint as if he could have been walking around blind to the injury. Was it in that fkin international cack?

Cross only pulled away in their county final against the Ogs, not impressive at all. A few of the ogs lads were in bad shape as well with their formal being just 36 hours before throw in! Not name any names here.

Coalisland will wipe the floor with Cross. They hammered a Donnaghmore team in their county final that hammered the ogs in a friendly week before both county finals!

lol wat a punch. Anyway the Corofin bloke shudn't have been on the field. He wasnt a player so how can Dolan get suspended. Look at it this way. If a fan came on the field and Dolan snouted him would he be sent off...probably not. The Corofin man didnt have a yellow bib on therefore he shouldn't have been inside the wire and most definitely not on the pitch. As far as Dolan is concerned he was a lunitic supporter who ran onto the field.

Here he did hit the ground like Didier Drogba tho. Wise up mate lol

Anyways that goal was a fluke. He was just hitting it towards goal, no way he meant it

During Armagh run to the Sam in 2002 Joe Kernan pulled plenty of tricks. At half time in the semi final he took out his 1977 AI final jersey and said to the players "Do you want an All Ireland Jersey" They went out and won by a point.

On the way to the final he played the infamous Peace With Inches Speech on the team bus and then at half time he took out his AI final losing plaque from 77. He said to the players "Do you want one of these" and then hopped it off the fours walls and smashed it in shite in the shower.

Armagh won...job done

I know what you mean with the near hand tackle. That is the one i use and i find it very effective. Sometimes you can come running up behind a player and punch down on the ball and knock it out of his hands. The ball will bounce away from him or else hit his feet and roll away. That means it is in front of you and as you are already moving in the forward direction you can get the ball up and away. Sometimes if the ball bounces up you can get it into your hands without even breaking stride. Kieran Hugues from Armagh was a master at it.

A problem that i find i a lot of players have is trying to be like Kieran mc Donald and slice the ball with the ourside or inside of their foot. It is a very hard skill to master and is very frustrating when someone continually messes up a pass by doing it. The way to coach it out of them is to get 2 slalam poles and put them about 2-3 feet apart and place one man on each side just about 5 yards from the poles. They have to kick the ball through the poles to their partner. Its only a 10 yard foot pass but if they dont kick with the laces the ball will go everywhere.

It may be primitive but 1v1 in the square with 4 around the outside. 2 balls so thers always 2 options for the forward to give to. 60 seconds in the square is tough going. Have a mentor to police the tackling and you'll see a major improvement in the defenders ability to intercept and disposses and the forwards ability to hold the ball close to the chest + give direct passes while under intense pressure
