True Hound, and I suppose that is what his role will be. I suppose my knock on Dublin for the past 3 or 4 years is that they have a scatter of ball winners but not enough lads to split the pipes under pressure. You can't throw the baby out with the bathwater though, and maybe 3 or 4 cool forwards, with another 3 or 4 ball winners (Some can be both :D) would be a recipe for Sam going to the Spire on his holidays.

True BnM man, but as you say, hardly important. I suppose the confusion is because Moneygall play in the Tipp championship.

RIP Uachtarán.

You're dropping Cullen??  ;D

I like the look of that Connolly fella. As I commented in the O'Byrne Cup final thread, he seems as if he may well be another piece added to Pillar's jigsaw. Obviously he's raw and will not be at his peak this year, but forwards like him will be needed over the next few years. Himself, Brogan, Keaney, and maybe one or two more (Not convinced about Vaughan, Cosgrove, Bonnar, etc) would be a fine forward line.

I'd be expecting a Mayo win here. With OMahoney on board, and a perceived revenge mission on the cards against what will be a fairly experimental Kerry side, I can't see the Kingdom beating Mayo up in Mayo.

GAA Discussion / Laytrum v Biffos

Well, it's that time of year again, and first up is a trip to Carrick on Shannon (I presume). Any word from the Leitrim lads here about how they are shaping up? Offaly had two decent wins in the O'Byrne Cup before being unseated by a late Laois rally in the semi final. Pat Roe did a little experimenting, but not too much has changed, apart from perhaps Ger Rafferty starting in the corner, Joe Quinn making full back his own, Shane Sullivan moving out to centre back, and the surprising form of erstwhile #6 Scott Brady at wing forward.

Promotion has to be achieved this year, or else the league re-org (Is that still going ahead) would leave Offaly in Division 3 or 4, which would be a disaster. In order to achieve that, Offaly will have to beat the likes of Leitrim, even away from home.

Any views on this game?

My word as in that's how I read his sentence.

That is not my opinion, rather my reading of his.

Is it Patrician College in Newbridge? I think they are fairly decent, without ever winning it. I think Clane CBS (?) are also a strong enough side.

Quotethey would better off keeping private

I read that as in , 'in my opinion their objections are not valid, and they'd be better off not airing them for their own sakes'.

I don't think he meant you aren't entitled to have those opinions.

If I said that I think Leprechauns exist, I'd be entitled to hold that viewpoint, but I'd be better off keeping it to myself :D

In fairness, Canavan's hair did look like Rick Astley back then :D

Exactly J70. I think it's much better that Neville actually gives a sh*te about who he plays for, and also recognises and embraces the rivalry with Liverpool.

As for the article, I notice that 'hatred' and 'loathing' are not direct quotes. Read what he actually said, and it's perfectly understandable from his point of view. (Even if it is flawed :D)

I like this sentence. Does he go around with Amhrán na bhFiann playing in an iPod or something?

Quote£130m for Rio?

Jaysus, you wouldn't get that for the city, never mind count Duckula. I think the fee was 30 mill.

I know, but they are Dutch.

I actually agree. I think Dutch and Scandinavians have a more immediate impact in England compared to Italians, Spanish or South Americans, with obvious exceptions of course.
