Im delighted to see Marty Mac back in the set up. Hopefully he can stay injury free and have a good cut at making the team.

I'd rate Howley fairly highly. I wouldnt mind seeing him getting a run there in the league. A lot of the potential replacements are not a patch on Jimmy Nallen to be honest, but they have to be tried at some stage.  I'm surprised if David Kilcullen was not called into the panel. Is Enda Devenney back in the panel?

MacDanger, I think there are 17 teams. So there will be a minimum of 20 games in the season. 16 league and 4 championship. Thats a lot of football. 

A lad was telling me that Crossmolina B finished second in Division 4 this year and Killala won division 3 and yet Cross will end up in Division 2 next year while Killala will remain in division 3. It could be a hard year for Cross B.

Cross seniors won the league yesterday beating Shrule by 1-09 to 1-06.
How did Killala get on in the connacht final?

the fact that macD went to the meeting on saturday shows that he is keen to get back into it. We didnt see him until the league semi final this year.

And while I'm at it, you're a great man for the irrational whinging yourself if anyone looks sideways. Anyone else recall the fit you had earlier in the summer when others suggested that Gardener wasn't great at defending and McDonald was playing too deep.

Defending your clubmates every once in a while is hardly irrational. But i hope no one "recalls" it or ye'll have me sent to the mad house!

Cant ye remember how long Gerry Flanaghan got for the time he supervised John Maughan slipping? I think it was a month!

How do you get out of a particular division. Do they revise them every couple of years or so?

What ever happened to that Fitzmaurice fella?, looked a classy free taker in the final anyway.

I think he used to own the bar down beside the Lacken pitch - The kerryman was it?  He was a good free taker alright. I wouldn't be surprised if he was still togging out the odd time.

I would have been one of the people scratching my head at McStay being included in the poll but I now think that he defiantly deserves to be in it.

You see him playing well in one game and now he definitley deserves to be on the list of greatest mayo players of the last 20 years!!!! interesting!

Well. Now that we have our new three year plan in place does this mean we will be getting a new three year  Captain. If thats the case then the 5 older lads of MacD, Nallen, Brady, ONeill and Heaney are probably ruled out. If we look ar Barneys team from earlier in the thread we can see the lads who will more than likely be starters.
