General discussion / Re: Rugby world cup 2015

Problem is the six nations is Irelands bread and butter and we have been doing very well I it for last ten years plus so there is no incentive to change ,hopefully one of these World Cup years we hit the required standard and at least get to a semi final

Been looking at ireland play for 30 years and the one consistent is we cannot play or do not have the players to play the game at the pace of nz or aus and I'm not just talking about the backs take Reid from nz and heaslip 2 good players but the one great divide is pace . As a country we probably don't produce really fast players in any code played internationally . So while our forwards are killing themselves to get 3 yards with pure effort and power the kiwi forward is running like a back and flipping a pass with the ball held backwards in one hand.  I think this is why we play so tight a game and don't take many risks just playing to what suits our talent and skill levels .
When zebo  is not even in match day squad and he is supposed to be our fastest and most explosive player it shows what is valued most ,no mistakes stick to game plan must not offload .

We know we will be in the qualifiers by early June anyway , hard to get fired up about championship when you know that if you win the first round game the second round will be about damage limitation and keeping within 20 pts of Dublin  , unfortunate but true

Very little talk about county final on Sunday is it a sign of the interest in football in the county at the moment?

The have lost the support of  the Obama government which will be gone in 16 months things could change around completely after he is gone.if Israels time is running out what will it be replaced by another situation like Syria  or  Libya  the world is volatile enough right now .

It's a pity he doesn't stay going for a few more years it's not like he's hanging on by a fingernail to his position , so what if he's 37 i think he's got something left in him and so do toloun obviously .
Media always dogging these guys about when will you retire this year next year after six nations , there is definitely a big difference in o Connell at the end of his international career than o Driscoll who was a shadow of himself. I don't see much difference in o Connell now to 5 years ago ,these guys are rare and I hate to see him go.

Just heard its actually a mr. s staunton...as in steve. time for the county board to come out with it...who could it be. My source maintains that Sheedy was going to take job with the expectation that Fitz was not going to stay on for another year.
Time to shut the laptop down now  tony fireman Sam is coming on tv

Pace of Dublin killed Kerry , I thought Darren o sullivan created a few problems for Dublin because they had to stand off him a bit in case he carried the ball at them which was about the only way Kerry might have got through them ,carry straight at them and win a few frees or get someone carded .
kerry bench not as good as made out to be and I can't believe Kerry went down really without showing anything or were Dublin that much better

Brolly never gives a team credit for a goal or a good piece of play if a team scores a goal its a defensive breakdown not a piece of skill that did it, surely attacking play deserves some credit.

Why no Donies? They would never miss the derby particularly Donie B.

Hesh will have a birds eye view of proceedings so!
Judging by any comment hesh has ever made on this site or laoistalk I know who he would like to win,
