on May 18, 2001 Ratzinger sent a letter to every bishop in the Catholic Church.[5] This letter reminded them of the strict penalties facing those who revealed confidential details concerning enquiries into allegations against priests of certain grave ecclesiastical crimes, including sexual abuse, which were reserved to the jurisdiction of the Congregation. The letter extended the prescription or statute of limitations for these crimes to ten years.

'Fast-paced social
change has occurred, often adversely affecting people's traditional
adherence to Catholic teaching and values. All too often, the sacramental
and devotional practices that sustain faith and enable it to grow, such as
frequent confession, daily prayer and annual retreats, were neglected'.

I  am   sure  in  the  slow paced society of  the  forties the  people  sustained their devotionial practices such as
frequent confession, daily prayer and annual retreats .
And  judging  by  your  letter from  the old man in  previous  page
We  saw  how  that  helped

What  a  load  of  bollax
some  day  on  here  i  will  share  my last  experience  of confession in  knock  when  i  was home  on hollidays last  year
It  may not  have helped  that  it  was  my  first in  about 20 years  but  it  will be  my  last.

In fairness  to  him he  had some success  before  utd  without a  lot  of  funds .Ferguson led Aberdeen  to  a 2–1 victory over Real Madrid in the final of  the  cup  winners  cup    on 11 May 1983.
Perhaps this is his greatest achievement
