GAA Discussion / Re: Graham Geraghty returns
July 18, 2007, 10:02:49 AM
Yes its true this time. He was there and in full training last night. Whether he starts or not will be another thing. Dowd reckons super sub may be his new role! Glad he has returned quietly with no media speculation. According to Coyler this is what they had planned from thelast time. That with so much hype surrounding the issue they would let it calm down and then bring him back quietly.  :)

Yea wouldnt mind giving Moyles a go at midfield myself. and bring on McLoughlin in half forwards. I know I couldnt believe myself how the panel last night were all sympathy for Geraghty. the same panel who slated his behaviour a few weeks back ( bar McStay, Im sure he wouldnt have been so sweet :P) The player meeting was rubbished alright but this came from a Meath player who said that they were asked and said they didnt want him in the dressing room. Id say Coyle acted from that and claimed it was management decision but even by the way he was last night Id say he'd like to have him back. Jinxy, The panel were going on about how a group of Louth and Cavan lads left the panel to travel etc and its a disgrace and makes a mockery of the qualifiers. wonder will the game be at seven or abit earlier to accomodate the Fermanagh crowd. Fermanagh fans, will alot travel for this?

Yea I was surprised Coyle was so serene about it. After all the comments during the week and he decideing that the case was more or less close, he then says well the door is always open for Graham?? I was abitconfused I must say. If the door is always open and Geraghty apologised then why wasnt he playing on saturday? I dont know if bringing him back for next game will unsettle the team mentality. According to one of the senior players, they all met as said last week and it was the team who told  managemnet that they were not happy sharing a dressing room with Graham. we shall see....... anyway with regard to saturday, yes Jinxy I agree, midfield are poor. I dont have much time for Crawford Im afraid. Maybe woprth giving Donegan or McCarthy a try, neither super but cant be much worse than Crawford IMO. Hopefully the Fermanagh hoo doo will be lifeted on saturday. Think home advantage was crucial for us.

Well what Keys has written is pretty spot on. Geraghty lost the plot during a training game. The young lad was marking him hard through out and Geraghty didnt like it. They exchanged a few elbows etc but then Geraghty just lost it and went for him, fist boots and all. A few lads went in to break it up and he was fuming. Coyle asked him to apologise and get on with it but he refused saying that Coyle wanted him off the panel and basically f**ked off.

My biggest concern about this Geraghty issue is that if the CCCC cite him for this well then thats it, for nearly every championship game played there are going to be calls each monday evening prob by losing teams, to look into every off and on the ball incident in the game and I think it will cause ructions for the remainder of the year. Its something they will seriously have to consider before deciding to take action against Geraghty. Also can I just ask, if Meath wanted to, (which of course they wouldnt and I would hate to see it happen), could they ask the CCCC to look into the disallowed goal or the square ball incident or are they there to deal with players only? Again I think its only a matter of time before these issues will become more than just mere talking points.

GAA Discussion / Meath vs Dublin 17th June

I thought I would start a new thread about the replay where we can talk aboutthe actual upcoming game and not gg etc etc! I hear that the game is def on sunday at 4pm. would it be such a bad idea to have it at 6pm? anyone see any problems. To meath crew, I thought Crawfrd was terrible and chicken sh*t on sunday and hope he is left off the next day. Would like to see Farrell Ward and Bray in ff line with Sherridan Geraghty (depending) and Byrne in half forward line.
