Thats a very defensive and aggressive interview by Rafa. Very unlike him.

But fair play to him for explaining his position. He's still the man for me.

I'd play Zenden as he not loss the ball as often as Garcia dn would offer more protection. Both players are ex-Barca so should be keen to play, if fit.

I do think he'll play Kuyt but think Bellamy is more pacier and able to play on his own better. Kuyt would work his socks off but I'd like to see Bellamy exploit Puyols and Marquez lack of pace.

It will be a hell of an ask to beat Barca but they haven't been as fluent as lats year. Can blow a team away for 60 mins and then sleep for half an hour. There midfeild and back four can get attached and that can be their undoing.

Rafa and his Spanish knowledge should give some (once he doesn't decide to rest his players for pre-season  ;)

Would go with 4 -5 -1 away with Momo back in middle with Alonso and Gerrard. Bellamy up front to use his pace. With Pennat and Zenden (all thats left) on teh right. Tight disciplined show with ball retention the key. (Carra Agger Riise and Finnan at back with Dudek in Liverpool and Pepe in goals).

Nick a 2-1 in Anfield and roll on the quarters.

What has happened to the famous Scouse sense of humour? Keep her lit Slim!!

When you mix it with the legendary Irish sense of humour the two positives repel each other an make us into bitter old lemons. The jokes are fine and actually humorous but its shits like Eminem's ballsack with his "tramps" "bin dippers" "scumbags" comments that piss me off. Perhaps on one of his trips to anfield he got some unapprecaited male-to-male attention from a scouser that has rattled his bones.

oh, and on another note-while watching LAST WEEKS Arsenal Liverpool game SlimShadys TV is lucky to still be in tact as I was very close to putting my boot through it.

tossers sang- Justice for the 96 for 6 minutes solid! f**k sake like.

Who do you support then?
Thats well uncalled for. Do you know why they saw for the first six minutes of a cup tie for? If you didn't want to watch it, turn the Tv to another station or turn the sound down but don't f**king be so disrespectful to the dead and peoples efforts to bring to account those who's actions contibuted to their death. You're right up their with Fearon.

What a bunch of idiots. No-one can say "we're the best fans in the world".

But I can say that its typical of Manc's, chavs or even worse "I don't support anyone" to jump in and start a "have a laugh at liverpool" thread.  I have searched and can't see "the Man united joke thread ala Southend United".

Slim - go do one.

Had it as a coach and it is without doubt the most fustrating and annoying thing that can happen when you are trying to install discipline and respect into players in their formative years.

I have experienced it from two Refs, once from the same Ref on two occasions. One was a U-14 final and it was absolutely blatant. Senior members of the other club agreed afterwards.

It will never go away with the GAA because it is so localised and because clubs meet on so many levels. Unless a county board is strong enough or is enforced to ref the refs as such and are shown to be doing it, then it will never go away. A ref can be bad to both sides and to me, thats fair enough. Refs that are clearly bias to one side and it is clear to a party not involved (county board offical) should be held accountable, even if it is just a "you where very bad in that game, please explain your level of performance" letter, well at least they are made aware of it. But no eveidence will be available unless the match is recorded and this is rarely the case unless it is senior championship or an underage final.

I know one  Ref in the County well and he has requested not to ref our club as he is well known to the players and feels that he would be accused of bias if he was to ref any club matches. I think that this is sensible & honest by him.

Zenden out for 4/5 weeks. Midfield  will now consist of Stevie G and ??????.

Options - Carra (played there in his formative years and last year for England), Agger or Guthrie (untried youngster).

Prob go for Carra with Hyypia and Agger CB, Riise LB and Garcia on left, Pennat on right. Not too many options though.

Might be time to give the youngsters a go. Portsmouth at home (who have their own injuries) would be as good a game as any to blood Guthrie. Should defo get a run against Gala in a dead rubber match. Also Anderson, Hamill, Peilter could get a run.

will be interesting to see the midfield saturday any thoughts?garcia, gerrard, zenden and riise, with warnock at left back?please not aurelio!?

No Warnock, he out for a few weeks. All options on the left injured bar Riise - Kewell, Aurelio, Gonzalez, Warnock. Looks like Garcia or Zenden but no-one else in the middle with Alonso and Sissoko injured. Unless he throws Anderson from the Youth team into the mix but this would be very unrafa like.

I have no idea, normally I would  :P but I was in the changing rooms at half time. The subs were just coming off when we went back out anyhow, never heard any chat of it afterwards-never heard much chat in fact  :-[

The pitch was a fecking bog anyhow, total parcel of shite. Though I dont think we'd have won if we'd even played on Croker on Sunday! :-\

The subs continued to warm up with ball but had to use the sideline (stand side of the white line).

Pitch did look bad and this is after it was closed over last winter/spring to get the drainage fixed.

Greenan is some idiot.

At the Clontibret/Cargin replay on Sunday the Cragin subs went out on the field at half time to warm up. After a few minutes, Greenan landed pitchside and shouted ordering the players off. As the arrived at the sideline he could be seen counting the number of subs on the pitch. Apparently this will result in a fine for cargin for each player on the field.

Is this correct? Slim?
