I would love to see Mayo beating Kerry this year. The patronising attitude Kerry football people have must drive Mayo people up the wall. Tomás Ó Sé is full of it in the Indo today. Love their gah but they can't win.

Tyrone haven't beaten any of Dublin, Kerry or Mayo in yonks. Canavan obviously believes they can beat two of them, and maybe he is right. But I wouldn't agree.
As for Galway, they haven't won a game in Croke Park for 15 years. I expect that to change tomorrow, but that will probably be the end of their run. And that would be a very good year for them considering most of their supporters didn't give them a chance against Mayo.
But 4th best team! Nonsense. Donegal would eat them alive in Croker as, I think, Mayo will do in the semi final.

Meanwhile county players are f**king off to America for more "nutritional payments" leaving their clubs in the shit and your average club player is wondering what is the point of committing to training all year, indeed many are voting with their feet as the clubs die.

A few of bankers going to the big house. I'm not sure why it took so long to do this.
Three former bank executives have been given prison sentences ranging from two years to three and a half years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in Dublin for their part in a €7.2bn conspiracy.
Former Anglo Irish Bank executives John Bowe and Willie McAteer and the former chief executive of Irish Life and Permanent, Denis Casey, were found guilty last month of agreeing a scheme to mislead the public about the true health of Anglo.
Judge Martin Nolan sentenced Bowe to two years, McAteer to three and a half years and Casey to two years and nine months.
Was this not part of Sean Quinns defence that he was duped by their financial reporting when buying his CFD's?

In fairness most of the dismissing before the Mayo match was from Kevin Walsh. Which the media and probably Mayo team fed into. This tie is a potential banana skin as it's the first time Galway are favourites. Galway are still not really getting credit for winning Connacht. But this is good as it sort of keeps them under the radar.
Quote from: From the Bunker on July 29, 2016, 08:28:02 AMCommon knowledge was that Mayo were miles ahead. Galway had a mediocre D2. Mayo D1. Sure Mayo would walk it.

We have to oblige by our EU commitments on immigration, or we either change the agreements or Irexit.
However, I don't understand why, for example, nearly half of our immigrants came from outside the EU last year. Why are we taking in so many? The US, Australia, Canada and a few other places where we emigrated to, I can understand. But the rest? I am not sure we need to be so open to countries that may be hostile to any western country.
It should be mentioned though, that we still have net emigration. I believe that everyone putting up borders will impede us more than it helps.

It is now Russia's fault.
Trump not my first choice, but four more years of this and we are fuc*ed.
Shouldn't we be fucked by now after Obama's reelection?
Given the hand he was dealt he's done a decent enough job, but the long term prognosis of the outstanding federal debt is terrifying
