That was a terrible performance against one of the poorer Chelsea teams of recent years which makes it worse. It could get worse if Bailly is out for the season and our chances of making the top 4 would be even slimmer. My only gripe with Mourinho is Fellaini, just don't get how he keeps getting games; Too many players have been bought that aren't just good enough and others have been bought for the sake of buying and not sure where they fit it.

United have to go on a run before xmas to close that gap, got to beat Spurs and Arsenal at home.

It may not have mattered but Martin Atkinson once against makes a huge mistake by not sending Luiz off.

Good result and some good very good football so naturally this place has gone very quiet.

Fegie had us playing plenty of dross in his time for long periods, from 86-90 there was long periods of poor football. It took him 5 years to get it right and we then had a long period up until 2003 when the football was brilliant. Then for about 2 to 3  years the the football wasn't great until after xmas 2006 where once again we played some great football. But even when we won the league and got to a CL final in 08/09 there was plenty of games that we weren't great and from then up until he left in 2013 the football wasn't that exciting.

Its going to take time and I'd like to think he can get us playing like his Chelsea team that won back to back titles from 04 to 06, this is a new team where only a couple of the first choice players have been around the first team squad for longer than 2 to 3 years.

So aspiring to be like Chelsea is the ambition now.  :o This is Manchester United!!!!! United should be compared to Real, Barca, Bayern.....not Chelsea. If United played like this under LVG people would go crazy (and they did). LVG was past his best but even this guys best is not good enough for Manchester United.

The fare in Ferguson's time wasn't always good but the intention would always have been there bar when injuries/poor form dictated. If there was an exercise of bus parking it wasn't celebrated.....it was job done, move on. Mourinho was c**k a hoop.

We've finished outside the top 4 in 2 of the last 3 seasons so we're miles off Barca, Real & Bayern. We've had 4 different managers at the start of the last 5 seasons who've all had full control of player recruitment, the club needs a manager to get united back to where we should be based on the financial clout we now have and Mourinho is one of the very best if not the best based on his record.

Klopp would have been my first choice but it wasn't too happen.

Real were nothing special to watch last season and I doubt Bayern will be under Ancelotti, one of the reasons Barca are good to watch is because they have 4 of the worlds best players in their front 6.

I'm confident by this time next year Mourinho will have added another couple of top players to the first 11 and we'll be better to watch whilst remaining competitive. As for the other night United pressed Liverpool really well in the first half, we just didn't play well enough as an attacking unit to to cause them enough problems, we didn't take advantage when we were on top and its always going to be difficult to stay on top against one of your rivals for 90 minutes.

I would like to see more of Schneiderlin and what is the craic with Mkhitaryan - he is the player I was most excited about in the summer and potentially is the key to United creating and scoring more.

Not fully fit yet, think he would make a big difference to us. I'm looking forward to seeing him play more.

Pogba wasn't great but I was pleased to see him in that role, this is where I want to see him in the big games this season. In fairness he produced the only bit of real quality from a United player all night with that cross to Zlatan. I thought we'd see more of Schniderlin and I know he was injured last night but it looks like Mourinho isn't a fan. Darmian is another one who doesn't look to have a future at OT.

Content with that and happy with the way we set up. If only we'd have started with similar tactics against City.

We stopped Liverpool from playing unfortunately we didn't have enough quality in the final 3rd to trouble Liverpool enough, that will come with time. Rashford showed great maturity and was outstanding in the defensive side of the role, as soon as he went off Liverpool exposed us twice down that side as a certain scouser was caught cold.

Herrera was outstanding again, Fellaini did ok but really don't want to see too much of him. Pogba & Zlatan never got going and Young did well tracking back but is now non existent as an attacking threat.

Young did exactly as he was told and JM was happy with him as could be seen by his reaction when subbed.

Dour stuff but you can see with the fixture list over the next week or so coming up, JM didnt want to get off to a losing start. Think they gave this Liverpool side a bit too much respect and with a bit more confidence in the team they really could have gone at them a bit more.

JM hinted at this in his post match press conference and it was his intention to do so by bring Rashford more central to play of Ibra until he went down with cramp.

Not swashbuckling stuff but a decent point.

Great to see Herrara delivering on the promise for which he was bought. Have always been a fan and hopefully with a run of games he can start to dictate the game a bit more in that position.

Young did what he was told to do from a defensive point of view and Mourinho will be delighted with that but he's certainly not as quick as he used to be and doesn't carry the threat going forward he used to have. Hopefully Mourhino can get Martial & Mkhitaryan to work equally as hard. Its not looking good for Depay when he can't even get a place on the bench with Martial & Mkhitaryan not fit. I won't be surprised to see a couple of players leaving in January with Mourinho looking to bring in a central midfielder.

Some shock in Laois, what a way to win it.

Found not guilty, £50,000 reward was offered for evidence that would help Evans and apparently an ex boyfriend of the girl came forward.

I just don't understand why Evan's girlfriend has stood by him.

Galway and Mayo due to meet again before the final, Roscommon have certainly been the main beneficiary from the draw in recent years not that they've taken advantage of it.

I'd be in favour of getting rid of the league if it meant a longer championship.

Run the provincial championships in March, start the championship in April with every team to play 6 games up until the end of July which allow every county to play at least 3 rounds of their own championship in that period.

Looks like we're going to go over old ground.

The main problem is that there is no appetite among players from "weaker" counties to participate in a graded system.

I'm not saying the players' opinions are the be all and end all but it's not a great starting point.

What about supporters from the so called 'weaker counties', I'd like to know what they think?

I'd have thought the County Boards from the weaker counties would be in favour as it theory they'd make more money on the gate.

As for the players they'd soon get used to it, the next generation wouldn't know any different as they'd have grown up with it.

Every county has a senior, intermediate and junior championship.
Junior clubs aren't up in arms that they don't get to play in the senior championship.
Inter-county football is the anomaly here.

Spot on, we get the odd shock but isn't enough to keep justifying the current format.
