Manilou is going down to the Peoples Republic on Sunday.  He was in a bit of a tiff over his classification last time and had to be withdrawn much to his annoyance.  This is over hurdles and is deffo worth a punt so don't let passed form throw you off.  More news on Saturday but as of now he is walking around with the head in the air and as confident as a kerry footballer.

Good man Fear Rua, seems a lot will dodge the question though and prefer not to answer. How do you set one of the poll yokes?

Considering we are agreeing to join a brit police force and do all things to embrace the peace process us Mexicans down here woulkd like to know what you Alaskans would think if Bertie made a request that we only have one curency on the island of Ireland?  If it was subject to a vote and if you live in the six northern counties of Ireland would you vote (A) to retain sterling or (B) to agree to change to Euro?

Just curious  so A or B please, or put another way, will ye want the GPA to pay ye in (a) sterling or (b) euro?

I was in a car hire place in Orlando one year and the lady in front of me was hiring a car to go to Tampa to catch a flight to Edmonton. Her credit card was refused and she got into an awful state.  I was going to Lakeland, half way between Orlando and Tampa and I drove her to the airport and I'm no Angel, apart from the fact that she had an arse on her like yer woman on the diving board in the Irish Life add !

I have read this book  http://www.amazon.com/Varieties-Scientific-Experience-Personal-Search/dp/1594201072 (twice) and The Pale Blue Dot and from what I gather even Brian Cody or Micko don't come near being angels let alone saints.

It was a nice thing to do for the girl in Australia and there is one thing I do believe in and that is that you reap what you sow, good begets good etc.

Good game on Friday, despite boden pulling away in the second half, great to see Boden finally win the SHC. Thought they were the better team all over the field, but particulaly Keaney, Hiney [great tussle with Russell] and Sweeney. their defence was on top for the whole match and vincents couldnt get the scores required to stay in touch. Just look at the players they brough on to see how strong their team is at the moment. Shane Durkin caused real problems for Vincents on his introduction.

Only the flu Tayto which considering the past few months is feck all on the grand scale of things.  There was a great night in the club I believe and it went on until the late hours of the early hours and I missed the shagging thing. This win will do a lot for hurling in our area and I am sure the young lads in Scoil Treasa and Firhouse Community College will not have let it go unnoticed, or at least I hope the teachers haven't and hurling is promoted from it.

Henry Sheff and Cha Fitz were not playing, I'd say they were at home writing books !

Guys - thinking of heading down from Newry to watch this, would it be worth the run. I used to hurl with Eoghain Rua/Oliver Plunketts when I lived in Dublin so still keep an eye out for developments in the capital. When I played club hurling was tough, hard stuff and space to express yourself was limited - has it changed?

I hurled with Eoghain Rua for a few years myself but it was a good while ago (Joey Towell, Peadar Carton, (before he left) were there.  It was around the time that Jimmy Nolan the bus driver used to often take the field in the long trousers.

Thanks, I actually climbed outa the bed yesterday and drove down to the club and got the info in the car park !!  A big jug of hot whiskey and back in the leaba to celebrate.

Bud here was on the flat of his back since last Wednesday, thought I was going to make it to Parnell Park but grounded with the flu. Will someone post the results of 'Boden - Vincents for me please.  Something like Ballyboden 2-11 Vincents 1-10 would be grand thanks.

Well I have to agree with you about John (my own importance) Baily.

Will you ever give over. He made the decision himself. It is thanks to the likes of John Bailey and Co. as to why Conal gave up hurling. They had no interest in the game- couldn't organise them with a  decent manager- so why would he turn down an opportunity to play with the footballers. I would have loved to see him remain with the hurlers- but why would he continue to train in shambolic circumstances with Humphrey and the rest of Sesame Street in comparison to play in front of 80,000. Anyone would have done the same. He's the best Dublin hurler i ever saw - and he's never been replaced but he soldiered with the hurlers for as long as he could until they descended into a pub team which was the direct responsibility of John Bailey.
Anyway come on the vins- i'm sure Conal will win one soon- just not tomorrow night hopefully.

Every word I agree with and he would not have walked away and made the decision himself if other players like him had not been given the same incentive to stay playing hurling as football.  I look forward to seeing the standard of play tomorrow night, the potential for Dublin Hurling in the coming year and to seeing how many of the Vincents and Boden players will find footballs in their wardrobes when it is over.
