Alan Smith of Cavan was a special talent up ubtil minor level. I'll never forget how he raosted Wee James in one particular game. He used to hit them a dunt and always win the ball. Like all the great underage talents, the booze and the birds saw a  swift retreat from the Intercounty scene..

Who cares about what he wears or how often he shaves. Its 2010, get over it.

His ride on Witchita Lineman at Cheltenham in March is worthy of the award by itself.

That was 2009. WL died at Fairyhouse that April.

The ride on Drill Sergeant at Haydock back in October was pretty decent!:

How WLwas entered into an Irish National after being beaten around Cheltenham a few weeks before was a very bad and ultimately cruel decision. A horrible end for the horse. Should have been rested up for the year.

So much negativity on here about a documentary one of the games best exponents. Im just glad it was made, a great insight into a year in the life ofthe most famous Gaelic player out there. RTE usually dont touch GAA with a bargepole form September to May- would ye have been happeier to view a boring documentary on one of their beloved rugger buggers instead? The camera on Galvin at the Cork replay showed the class of the player, that was one of the greatest impact substitutions of all time.

Beano McDonald was an awesome underage player. Never quite made the impact at senior, possibly not big enough .

Kilcock worst team left in it. Sash are Sarsfields. Naas lost big to Allenwood and results havent been great. Sarsfields missing Earley but are strong enough to beat clane with Gary White, Alan Smith . Ive a funny feeling that Allenwood will give the Moores a game.

Alan Curbishley available . Lives in the area.

Id confidently go for all 4 to favs to win Kildare quarter finals. Athy are good things to beat Kilcock at 2/5 and Sarsfields to beat Naas at 8/15 looks good too.

Hope Doyle gets one, hes been labouring on his own for Kildare for 10 years . Was more accurate about 5 years ago but always a great player. Would be unfair if he finishes his career without one.
