QuoteLads, pray that Torres stays fit, he should be fresh if he doesn't get injured as he has played feck all.  Gerard has a drive dive which you rarely see in soccer players.

I corrected your typo for you there BCB1.

QuoteNothing much to do with this case but how do you get trapped on a railway line? I've heard it often but anytime I look at a railway line, I think, "how do people get trapped there?"

A few bottles of Buckfast would do it.

Donagh thats a bit crass given that a 14yr old boy has just died.  You might want to think about removing it.

QuoteBenitez did not want Keane, the deal to bring Keane to Anfield was done by Rick Parry, Benitez had nothing to do with it. Benitez and Parry have had a fall out and Benitez used Keane as a way of getting back at Parry.

Is there any evidence of this or is it just pub talk?

General discussion / Re: SNOW

QuoteFcuk all snow in Belfast....mind you it would freeze the balls off a brass monkey

I can't recall it as cold in the city centre for a long while.  There's a wee skiff of snow/hail swirling about.

Messis brilliance in unquestionable, however we only see it in clips.  Season long he has his off days as well just like Ronaldo.  All this is taken into consideration when determining the winner and Ronaldo's performance last season was consistently exceptional over a 9 month period.  He'll do go on a similar run again over such a prolonged period but then again so would Messi.

According to rumours, in the AI final this year, some of the Tyrone backs had Donaghy & Walshes bank account numbers written on the soles of their boots, which they could see every time they chased the ball.   Then when they went up to field a high ball, the backs would call out their date of birth & mothers maiden name.

How they got this info is anybody's guess but a fella who used to get a lift to the pub with one of the Kerry players cousins reckons MI5 trained a PSNI GAA team squad member from Tyrone to tap their phones.

;D ;D MODS!?!?

GAA Discussion / Re: What is a Third Man Tackle
January 07, 2009, 10:45:28 AM
QuoteBasically watch any Armagh game in 2002

******opens can of worms and runs away*********

Armagh & Crossmaglen under Joe Kernan did employ the third man tackle extensively but it was not considered a foul back then.  Referees are more aware of it now.

If I won the lotto I would take the "no publicity" option.   I'd tell no-one apart from my immediate family and just claim to have made a killing on the stockmarket/property deals.  That way you'd avoid spongers.

QuoteLooking like Kris Boyd will be leaving Mordor and heading to Birmingham City, would be great news if this happens.

You mean Rangers are selling the "New Ally McCoist"?? Surely not!

General discussion / Re: Buying a house
January 06, 2009, 04:19:16 PM
I bought a house a few weeks back for £82k that was on the market for £170k last year.

If I were you I would hold off until your house has completed.  You are then a cash buyer and not subject to sale.  That is the time to start negotiating.   House sellers & Estate Agents cream their jocks when a cash buyer turns up as there are hardly any about.    Those with a house to sell are considered worthless as buyers.  Even with your house agreed you are not in a strong postion to negotiate as half of these fall through before the 6-8 weeks it take to complete the sale.

QuoteMakes me embarrassed that people in position of influence still come out with this nonsense.

Read how many words are directly attributed to the Pope.  The rest is the work of fiction by a journalist.

I have no doubt that the pope opposes homosexuality but to attribute this article to him is nonsense.
