I think social media is definitely playing a part in destroying relationships. You're all mentioning Facebook but it's probably the least dangerous. Snapchat, Instagram, dating apps like tinder are all much more lethal. I know fellas with kids and wives/partners and they wouldn't think twice about shagging some randomer behind their back infact some would actively seek it. I'm not the most conservative but there's a lot to be said for maintaining traditional family values

Of course the GAA shouldn't be forced into doing anything they don't want to, rules are rules and they have their rules and all that.
As rules go though it's a pretty stupid one imo, also I doubt it would take very much or have much opposition if they were to bend the rules a little this time and make an exception.

Totally agree. If you can have American football and concerts at GAA stadia why not a charity event. GAA are a joke at times

I honestly don't see the Troubles coming back anytime soon. There will be a few people that will form some dissident nonsense but it's not like it was when the Republican movement began properly in the North. Catholics are not discriminated against like they were with housing/jobs/education/gerrymandering/policing etc. I can't see a point where armed struggle becomes an option again!

If there is a return to violence it is the loyalists who need to be watched. Only yesterday in Portadown 8 of the cowards jumped all over a mans car in broad daylight in front of his partner and 2 month old baby, before dragging him out and kicking the f**k out of him... Why? Can't speak for Roscommon but yes to a certain extent the club game did suffer. It's starting to recover slightly and Cross are no shoe-ins but the aforementioned was was evident in Armagh especially in the last 5/10 years

I don't know what possesses people to bring Palestinian flags or any flags outside of their own county to a football match.  Have people nothing better to be at?  There's a time and place. Is it really because folk feel some empathy for others' plight or is it just a chance to stick two fingers up at unionists. Knowing how both sides here think I'd guess it's the latter sadly.

It's just a bit of solidarity. It's not much but if it gets people talking and raises awareness of the issue then it's doing its job. I don't think too many unionists will be attending games anyway but I'd also like to think most right-minded unionists would abhor the behaviour of the pariah state of Israel towards Palestinian civilians. High profile gaa games are perfect place for displaying these flags especially with sky cameras picking them up. Fair play to anyone who flies them

I think one theory is that shots were fired around McAnespie in an attempt to make him "dance" although I've also heard somewhere that one shot was fired directly into his back and the part of his ribcage was removed at autopsy and never returned which may have interfered with providing evidence of him being deliberately murdered. Either way the soldier responsible obviously operated in a culture where it was acceptable to intimidate civilians and where if incidents like this occurred they were safe in the knowledge they'd get away with it. Scant consolation for his family but hopefully solider is found guilty and they get some form closure 30 years later

They can only use official footage. So if they suspend players based on something that was videoed from the stand on some c***ts 3310 they very much have a leg to stand on.

Having been at the game I didn't get the impression that Armagh set out to start a row.  It just escalated from a few Tyrone players starting to taunt, goad and wrestle with their opponents in the last minute of extra time.  Don't understand why they simply did not focus on gaining possession, holding onto the ball and seeing out the last minute of the game.  Sad statement on the state of things that after a magnificent effort from both sides that the focus of a few players at the end was to try and humiliate and taunt their opponents.  Does not at all excuse the bench clearing rush from Armagh and scenes that followed.  But Armagh did not start a row because they thought they were beaten.

The elephant in the room here is Tyrone and their complete lack of class. This is a county where most of the population dress like its 2001 and grown men still think it acceptable to run about with their hair dyed blonde using their sister's peroxide.

So when it comes to seeing out a game in the dying minutes, instead of just getting the job done, this utter ballbagness that is ingrained into every Tyronie from the day they're born comes to the fore. Of course things backfired, and being the shower of yaps that they are would rather see Armagh out as well as themselves just to be spiteful c***ts.

Reminds me of nights out in Armagh and Cookstown back in the day, they were the same then when Armagh boys curted their women, started rows because they all they were left with was to curt their cousins on the bus home
