Tierworker (theres disagreement on the spelling...everyone spells it as i do but it's officially Teevurcher on the map...) is a wee place near bailieborough in cavan thats half in cavan and half in meath...an odd auld place to be honest, but ojus craic and full of brilliant characters. in the cavan part theres a shop, a post office and some fuel pumps (that used to be full of smuggled 'blue' diesel back in the day!) and in meath there's a pub (the 'royal breffni'...geddit?!) a church, a hall, a pitch and putt course and half a tennis court! technically my house is in meath but i was brought up 'blue' (thats in cavan supporter terms, not that i was unhappy as a child!)...hence tierworker blue!
grand little spot. I had not heard of it until I was at a wedding there last year
a wedding, eh?...and you're still around to tell the tale?!!...fair play! you must have had all your paperwork in order...getting through tierworker immigration can be tough sometimes!

GAA Discussion / Re: Cavan vs Kildare,

apart from being an away game, it's one of the better draws we could have hoped for. while we're no world beaters at the moment, this is certantly a game cavan can win. theres no doubt that kildare will be hurting from their first game and will be well up for proving themselves in front of their home crowd, but it's hard to turn it on after a humiliating loss and a 6 week break (we know...we've been there!)
i can see this being a nice open game of ball...neither side is known for being overly agressive, so it will possibly turn into a point kicking fest (and if someone like johnston has a good day, and gets decent feed from the middle we could sneak it)
on the negative side, since we don't play in a tactically aware manner (ahem...keoghan out...!) and if kildare get a proper gameplan together it could be tough. when things go against us we never execute a 'plan b' properly, and to be honest im not sure about most of our managers 'plan a's' either! still and all, it's a game that can be win...come on the blues! as yazz once sang...'the only way is up!'

james reilly and seanie johnston from cavan are both outstanding players, and would make most county teams. anyone who's seen johnston play will agree that it's scary how good the lad is and reilly is arguably the best keeper in ireland. a lot of people would'nt really know them 'cause they only see the high profile players, but im sure anyone with their finger on the pulse of all things gaa will see where i'm coming from!
