There's a great  film I   seen him in, This Is My Father. It's not well known but it's  excellent . Colm Meaney and John Cusack in it too.  Well worth a watch

Heading to westport in mayo in August. Any recommendations on things to do or where serves a good pint of guinness?

Take a trip to Clare Island.  I've always wanted to visit there. Don't really know why.  Probably the Saw Doctors' fault. If it's crap , I'd blame them

Dingle great town. Slea Head drive fantastic. Great beaches, and great scenery. Climb the hill at end of peninsula for apparently great views. Coomenule beach, Gallarus beehive hut, blaskets centre. You could spend hours in Paidi's pub. Some great photos. Inch beach, great spot.

Maybe take a trip to Blaskets maybe from Dingle town?

A number of weeks before lockdown, we took in a dog from a relative who Had  got fed up with it. I was reluctant as I'm not really a dog person, but the wee thing would have ended up in the pound so we  relented

When lockdown hit,  herself was working from home, and I was off so  had a lot of time on my hands, so I started taking the dog walking around the local roads. It was a great way of meeting and chatting to people especially with nobody visiting early days.

Started growing some fruit and vegetables  down the back field  and took the dog everyday with me. Weather was great, and she kept me company  while I tried my hand at all sorts of plants ( mostly badly). She spent her time  lying in the sun, digging holes,   keeping an eye on the sheep/cows next fields and running around the place and sometimes getting in my way and walking all over my plants  I have great memories of those few months with her

Unfortunately a few months back she started going downhill. Tried different meds from vet but decline continued. Just over a month ago we lost her. Came down early one morning and she was gone.  I buried her in the back field  where we spent many memorable  days that summer., she probably kept us sane during those lockdown days, especially me. I'm absolutely heartbroken that she's gone.

The only suspension out of it all should be the Armagh eye gouger - the rest was handbags - bit of pushing

There is absolutely nothing wrong with penalties. Anyone who expects players and fans to go to croke park 3 weekends in a row in the middle of a cost of living crisis forgets all the whinging there used to be about how expensive it was for families beforehand.
I feel like some people just do not want anything that comes from soccer in the GAA. Its anglophobia and belongs in the past.

Penalties:
Losers hate them obviously.

Winners are happy but will say it's a terrible way to lose blah, blah, blah.

Neutrals think it's the best way to finish on the day.

Most neutrals seem to be saying it's no way to lose any match.

Yeah, but it's the way these games finish.

You'd think, from Armagh's point of view, that the referee just decided on penalties himself at the end of extra-time.

Sour grapes - Armagh lost. Raw now but that's life. It happened in the Munster game earlier this year and no one, outside Clare and Limerick, gave a fiddlers. It happens in club games.  Get over it ffs.

The main issue is this;
In the cold light of day, Galway were the better team. They almost threw it away.  Galway were 6 or 7 pts up in the 70+ mins. Armagh got lucky with the goals. Papered over that they were badly outplayed.

That's the reality.

So if Galway were  the better team, why take penalties at all then? Why not just award them the  semi final place based on that?

Regardless of who was better on the day, the number of points on the scoreboard is what matters.  The better team doesn't always win.

I'm sure most  Armagh fans would admit Galway were better but what does that matter ?  None of them would care about how good or bad their teams performance was yesterday  as long as they were in the AI semi final

GAA HQ should hang  their heads In shame  by allowing that penalty nonsense to decide a game.

We all should have had a  replay to forward to  next weekend.

It doesn't actually ring, but  a voice says "the number you have dialled is not answering. Please try again later "

I'm not familiar with the South's  phone networks. So I'm not sure if this phone is off the hook, out of service or engaged

Can anyone confirm?
