I have just done a bit more research into this. The software can use digital video in either AVI or MPEG format.  Magic DVD ripper, cyberlink power director and AVS Video Tools are a few I have come across, so I'll have a look at them over the weekend and maybe download their demo versions to see if I can get it sorted.

Thanks for your help.

Hello everyone - I've been lurking on the board for a few years now but have decided to post as I need some help.

I have a copy of a football match on a DVD. I need to transfer the match from the DVD on to a Camcorder tape, so that I can then transfer the match from the tape to my laptop. I will be using performance analysis software to analyse the match and have transfered games directly from the camcorder on to the laptop without any problems. However, the software does not allow me to simply put the DVD into the laptop and use it from there.

I have sought advice from an IT technician who told me I would need to play the DVD and attach a camcorder to the DVD player to capture the output - I tried this but it didn't work, though I'm not sure if I had the right leads.

Has anyone tried this before? Is there hardware I can buy which can do this for me?

All help much appreciated.
