GAA Discussion / SouthPark GAA
June 15, 2007, 06:56:07 PM
I was thinking today that one of the things this board is missing is a Southpark GAA team.

So, I had a look about and think I found just the thing to help us create one.

http://www.sp-studio.de/

To get things going, I've already 'created' a couple of lads.

Its like being asked to choose a favourite child, but here's 5 favourites, in no particular order:

The one where Bart becomes a daredevil and Homer jumps across the gorge
.............where they build the monorail
.............with Frank Grimes, Homers enemy
............Deep space Homer
............where homer stops going to church.

too too difficult

In Armagh as a Harps man the Ogs are the big rivals but the two teams both hate Keady, does anyone like Keady?? ???

Think it works both ways - lot of the county doesn't differentiate between og's and harps -  not liked.

The comedian Carol Burnett once said Comedy is tragedy + time.

Billy Connolly ceratinly found this out when he made a joke about Ken Bigley when he was still being held hostage.

Certainly not enough time passed in this instance, but even if there was I don't think it would be possible to find a child abduction joke funny.

Though with the use of the internet, it seems comedy is tragedy plus a minute.

"lawrie we will always love you. " Catch a grip of urself. That man did not give one toss about yous. I bet you he could not wait to get out of the north. He seen what sort of biggoted supporters he was dealin with when yous all turned on him. Goodbye north of ireland football for another 20 years or more. (I hope)

wnehn did we call turn on him. sure when we beaten sweeden we shouted for him not to go. we never NEVER never never turned on lawrie. sure he brought us higher than the other ireland team and we beaten sweeden england spain and another country, ? whaqt's your problem. is it because were the reigning british isels champions that stuciks in your throat and all? lawire sanchez this time last year weas the best international manager in the BRITISH ISELS and that includes brian i dont really kerr, sven i like you secretaty your maine goring ericson and your other men in the other wales and stotland. lawrie sanchex scored a goal with his head against liverpoll in 1988 FFS. he took wycombe to the facup semifinals FFS. he beaten sweeden and engl;and andf spain and other countirs maybe not big countirs but sure the likes of licktinstein and georgvia can still put it up to your, wee were not the wipping boys that we wore under sammy nor the other lawrie. we are feared now we are respected thats all because of lawire snachec and his tacterial genuis,. so dont say we turned on him because we didnt

Such mastery of language; to be able to reduce complex information to concise, readable sentences; the wit of Wilde and the intellectual rigour of Chomsky.

Wonderful post, and surely a front runner in the 'post of the year' stakes.

And before anyone thinks about questioning the mighty sanchez, just remember, he scored goals with his head.

With his head.

Lot of valid points about the squad for next year.

Berbatov would be good - surely he'd jump at the chance to play for a big club? Like West ham and Tevez, they're more of a feeder club these days. Players want the chance to win things after all.

We're overloaded in Midfield - Mascherano, alonso, gerrard, Sissoko and the brazilian Leiva. Xavi needs a new challenge.

Gonzalez nearly gone, zenden going, kewell to be hopefully booted out and pennant to stay in squad. need wingers/Playmakers.

Bye bye bellamy, crouch to stay in squad, Kuyt's a great worker but needs quality. Not sure if he has it but good player to bring on.

Not sure if i trust agger yet - still a bit young. need to replace sami.

even I could get to play a game every now and again.

There's a bloke called Paul Caffrey, i'll see if i can a number for ya..........

Fair play to Heaney. Good to see him being honest about Tyrone as well; great player as Cavanagh is, spoils it with his
soccer antics.

Tyrones acheivements are sullied by those theatrics.

Brilliant news :)

Intelligent footballer, his running creates space for others to exploit, never gives up. Sure it will give the whole panel a lift.

Probably just in as cover until Clarke and Mallon recover. Maybe it's a Larsson type situation where he'll return to the Clans for the start of their season. Is he still going to do both and when's Clans first championship game?

Welcome back Diarmuid.

GAA Discussion / Re: AI Club Games this weekend

Well done to Crossmaglen.  A lot of the personnel may have changed since their last AI final appearance, but the team ethic and style of play is still the same.  I thought the difference in the teams was the range of scoring options Cross had, with St Brigids over reliant on Dolan for frees.  McConville was key again, but the younger guys like McNamee, Hanrarry, McKenna and Murtagh did the business when needed. John McEntee had his best game (at any level) in a long time.  Donal Murtagh seems to have something about him as a manager - making the right switches at the right time.  Has the makings of a good  final, regardless of who gets through from the  replay.

Well said.

Thought it was a good competitive game of football.

Bit more composure up front and St Brigids might have run them a lot closer. Dolan kept them in it for long spells.

Cross never panicked. Was impressed with young Hanratty in the second half, got into the game a lot more. And you're right about McEntee, best I've seen him playing in an age. Oisisn did the business when needed.

Only gripe; 15 yoyo's seemed a bit steep to pay into a stand that was already full. If it had rained there would have been a quare scattering session like in 'cross the week before.

Huge difference in the warm ups as well. Whilst Cross were engaged in disciplined routines, St Bridgids were happy enough toddling about. Mind you, St bridgets seemed first to the ball for large parts of the first half. Slow and Steady wins the race though.
