The game should be used to try a few options in the middle and at the back.
King is a grafter but he needs somebody beside him to share the load. Was introducing McArdle a sign of desperation the last day. Put Gordon in at least for a period of the game and see how the two gel. Is Liam Doyle fit, if so give him plenty of game time and move McKernan.
No point bringing Mooney onto the panel if he is never going to be used this is the ideal game to see how he goes.

I dont understand how Clarke can be rated as a 7.  Is it the level of expectation. His point on the run in the first half was my highlight of the game.  In addition some of the passes he found in tight situations which both retained posession and changed the angle of attack were vital to the outcome.
I thought the pattern of the Galway game was repeated last night, over elaboration on occassion and the spurning of chances to take points at earlier points in play.
No disrespect to Mayo,Galway or Armagh but the Dubs, Cork and Kerry will be bigger challenges and the need to be clinical will be vital.
I didnt forget Monaghan!!!

Brother is a season ticketholder and was told in Newry today that every seaon ticket holder would be counted as attending today. Attendance must have been a lot more than it looked!

I thought McVeigh had a good game and was particularly solid under the high ball on what could'nt have been an easy day given he swerling wind.
Maybe its looking over the shoulder to where we have come from but in the not to distant pass we would have lost that game.  Some good tackling and blocking in the last few minutes before the goal secured the points

You do know the world is supposed to end in 2012.  Not much point in a 3 year deal or contract.  Mind you if Kildare survive they will definetly win sam in 2013.  Bit like america world baseball champions nobody left to play.

Did Newry and Mourne Council not truck sand in each year and dump it beside the old swimming baths.  The tide washd it out over the course of the year and the council bought the same sand again.  Or is that just a myth

Tell him to drive to Portavogie and ask for directions to Ballygalget club.

Go to the Quays pub/restaurant at the corner of the harbour, the owner is a lad Adair, tell him I sent you and you want to watch RTE2.

It'll not be a problem   ;D
Whats the ulster scots for RTE2 and is your friend Usain Bolt

Sure its getting difficult to know where the point starts and Burren ends or the other way round.  Is Burren a Parish in its own right now?
Was always Burren for Football and the point for sandcastles or has all the sand gone on holiday to greenore again

rubbish on the 2 points - all those in the know are downplaying the Down tradition,  it is the main reason why they have the confidence in pushing on in Croke Park, that Cockiness that dosent exude from a Fermanagh, Westmeath or Kildare man in Croke Park.  People have talked for 40 years about Downs ability to fly high in all ireland finals and you guys dont think it matters - such a load of crap.  If you dont think tradition counts EC look at your own county - why do these young fine footballing Errigal Ciaran teams for the most part flounder whilst Carrickmore men at 35 - 40 years old have been beating youse for fun all these years...  tradition sir.

Rubbish (ec point 2) but for a referee that was ridiculously one sided last year - and Harte messing up the deal with Cavanagh- Tyrone would have done 2 in a row.  Watch that game again to see how misfunctioning Tyrone were.  Harte had a crap game that day as well.
If your talking about finals yes it is five out of five, no Down will not feel inferior when they step on the field but does it make each player feel they have  god given right to win.  Does it give them an advantage in decision making on the field or in a 50-50 ball.  Your point re the other counties is let down by the examples you give.

Have to agree with Onion Bag.  After the euphoria of the semi final win and now the final is almost here the actual realisation of facing Cork on Sunday is sinking in.  The psycological babble bout brittleness on the Cork side and tradition of not losing  final on the Down side is crap.  Its all about the performance of the players and the choices the management teams make on the day.
In terms of decision making during the game I think the Down backroom team had only one poor outing this year, yes it was the tyrone game!.  I would have faith in wee James making necessary changes early on depending on Cork game plan i.e. continuing the running game or moving to the long high ball into the  full forward line.
It appears the Cork players dragged themelves to the final despite the Cork backroom teams shortcomings or indecision.  Both teams will go onto the Field thinking they can win.  I hope we get a showpiece final a sore head and no voice for three days.

Could this be the first time the crowd is at capacity for the minor game and then leave before the senior?

???

perhaps some Tyrone ones will leave after the minors but i cant see many of them travelling anyway
Sure they didnt even support their senior team in the quarters in big numbers

I have a ticket for Sunday and will be tempted to leave after the minor game and watch Senior game in the pub enjoying a few Pints and a quick getaway after. :)

Could not really care less who wins seniors but Cork deserve it more on their form over the last few seasons but that will count for sweet fa on Sunday. I think they will win though.

You do understand that football did start before 2003?.  If I was lucky enough to get a ticket to any AI final I would want to experience the whole occassion.  Sure if you quick enough you could get to a pub thats not showing the game and you might even be lucky enough to be tucked up in bed before the adults arrive home.  EC Unique perhaps Waste of a ticket would be more apt.

Isnt it  pity that we cant have a phone vote for those counties that "deserve" to be in the final rather than the two teams that have qualified as a result of being succesful in accordance with the competition rules.

Sour grapes anyone!!!

and Kildare were only in the semi final because they beat a poor Meath team and Meath were only there because they beat Louth and its starting to sound like who do you think you are, your great grandmother was Michael Collins Housekeeper and!!!!!
