What happens if Roscommon/Tyrone are drawn against Mayo? Obviously Rocommon cant play Mayo as they met in Connaught Final but if Tyrone beat Roscommon this wouldnt be a problem and would be able to play Mayo in quarters. The way I see it, a fair draw cant be made until after Roscommon and Tyrone match

It'll then be the next one out of the hat that gets to play Mayo then. And if let's say Dublin are due to play the next team out of the bowl/hat (take your pick) then they face Roscommon/Tyrone.

Surely thats not fair on Tyrone. No offence to Mayo but Tyrone would probably be hoping to get them in the quarters instead of having to play Dublin, Donegal or Kerry.

GAA Discussion / Re: Kerry V Cork

No doubt that paddy kelly is a very good player and does well working back and carrying ball from the half back line but im not sure if he has that killer pass. I found it strange that tomas o shea didnt pick him up yesterday as he cleaned him out in last years all ireland and when he was put on him in the second half last week, i dont think tomas is fully wound up yet this year. What might be worrying for cork is that this kerry team always seem to improve as the summer goes on so id expect them to be a 4 or 5 point better team come august/september and if cork cant beat them in june i cant see them beating them later in the year.

That said nobody is going to want to meet cork in the qualifiers and id expect them to make the quarter finals very easily.

Zulu, i dont think Cork has the required talent yet to win an All Ireland. They are seriously lacking a playmaker in the half forward line. When Kerry needed scores yesterday at the vital times they got the ball to the gooch and declan o sullivan who created the scores (tyrone have had brian mcguigan and colm mccullagh as a playmaker for their all ireland wins), cork dont have a player with that bit of class. Although i do belive that conor counihan was extremely naive not to drop an extra player back on the gooch as 90% of kerrys scores came through him.

General discussion / Re: The Horse racing thread

I think findlay only layed his horse for a fraction of what he'd already backed it on betfair and has been very open about this situation I dont think he realised he was in the wrong when he layed it!! Id find he is generally very open about all of his horses and bets...hardly a crook anyway!!

Played in a club game yesterday where the ref told both teams beforehand that he was gonna be lenient with new handpass rule and wasnt gonna blow for any illegal handpass unless it was a clear throw. I think both teams were delighted and fair play to the ref for showing some common sense and not ruining the game like the the so called "elite" referees did yesterday!!

Ross4life.....What game were you watching?? Shine best player by far??!! In fairness.... Niall Daly was outstanding at centre back and Collins showed real leadership til he got injured.... Shine caught a few savage balls but done feck all after that. Roscommons other senior players let them down badly. For Dublin i was most impressed by No.'s 7 and 12. Looked classy players.

What would the 08 players stance be if a new manager decides that he dosent want some of the older players on his panel (E.g Donal Og, Sean Og, Diarmuid O sullivan, Ben and Jerry o Connor) for various reasons such as a new manager might feel they are not up to inter county evel anymore or thay are a bad influence on the younger payers, it wouldnt really matter for what reasons as a manager dosent have to explain the selections of his panel. Would the remaining 08 players join this new panel or do all the striking players have to be included in a new panel for the strike to be over??
