to be fair i also bought an expensive hp printer/photo copier, the thing didnt work after a month and hp wouldn't fix it under the warranty, jumped through hoops to get something sorted and still nothing, still sitting in the garage! i didn't have any real problems with my laptop, charger wouldn't connect for a while and the battery went dead but it was just a matter of replacing it. as anyone had any experience with samsung laptops?

would you's recommend a refurb or is it likely to lead to problems? I just want the most reliable/decent performance/value for money deal. suppose thats what everyone is after though!

Some people need to take a good look at themselves. There was a philosopher and I cannot remember his name. He said that a good life is one in which you packed a lot into. He said that people often, when they are old or past 40, won't look back on their life because they're devastated that they spent most of it wasting time sitting in the drive thru for KFC, watching nonsense like Big Brother or Countdown, looking at gay porn or sleeping. Sinead has done more than all of us put together. She has been a world superstar as a teenager, publically supported the IRA, retracted that statement, refused awards because the Grammys were being sponsored by companies, denounced the pope, retracted that statement and became a priestess and then an archdeacon, tried suicide, became a lesbian and then bisexualism, married 4 times, smoked dope and appeared on the Tubridy show. She's only 45.

Cut her a bit of slack and maybe get behind her.

:D Are we meant to take that post seriously

thanks mainstreet, like the look of the 4530s.

one more question if you could help me out, if im looking for speed and performance, does more ghz or whatever you call it matter. or does more RAM matter or the size of hard drive? And if so which is more important.

does because one laptop's specification have a higher figure neccessarily mean it is a better laptop. Sorry for being a complete noob

Ok, so my laptop is pretty much finished and not as solid as it once was, it was a HP DV9000.

To be fair this laptop done everything I ever needed it off it so I don't need to upgrade that much! Now I don't know if anybody knows anything about laptops, but if they could check the specifications on that model, and then recommend what outperforms it but is pretty good value on the market today.

My old laptop was 17 inch screen and I'd be more than happy to downsize to a 15 inch.

Budget probably wouldn't surpass 400 if ideal (unless that is a bit stingy??). Mainly going to be used for Microsoft Office work, browsing, streaming, movie playback (preferably HDMI connection) and perhaps the odd Poker application (so I am assuming good multi tasking is needed) or Football Manager game.

Any help at all would be much appreciated if there are any whizkids out there as I don't have a clue!

I'm in that phone booth!

Also from Wiki

QuoteA country may be an independent sovereign state or one that is occupied by another state, as a non-sovereign or formerly sovereign political division, or a geographic region associated with a previously independent people with distinct political characteristics.

Last time I looked at the table Celtic were double figures in points behind Rangers and that wasn't too long ago! I am not a Celtic supporter but do have a bit of interest in them plus I hate that McCoist man and like Lennon's passion, fair play to him!

And are you's going to start arguing that England/Scotland/Wales are not countries? You can get all technical with sovereign states/countries, or you could also start talking about constituent countries. Sorry folks, but whatever you seem to thinkor whatever little loophole you may find which might state otherwise, it is a country. It has it's own government, which now actually has power to make calls on many (not all before you start) issues that actually matter.

This is what I can't understand with the bits of the U.K. getting teams, why doesn't California, Catalonia, Lapland, Punjab, Queensland, Patagonia, Galicia, Corsica, Crimea, Tibet, Borneo, Transvall, Qubec, Western Sahara, Biafra, Palastinan Authority, Kurdistan, Gotland etc. get teams?

Don't know, I would take a slight guess at the fact they are not countries but wouldn't be so sure. Let me know if you find out!

Who defines which are countries, states or nations? Pretty sure many Qubecois, Catalonians, Laps, Western Saharans, Tibetans consider themselves countries, some with far great historical claims than the gerrymandered partitioned region of Ireland/region of the United Kingdom. California was an Independent Republic, Corsica fought to free themselves from Genoa, to be defeated by France, who invaded because the British tried to turn the place into a Royal Navy puppet state. The Biafrians fought a war to say they were a country. The Kurds and Palestinians argue they are a country. Gotland has a historical claim to being seperate. Queensland was a seperate colony. Crimea is more Russian than Ukranian. Borneo, Punjab and Patagonia have a different flavour to the rest of the states they belong, were does the line between region, province, state, nation and country start and end?

Yes I meant teams that are members of FIFA, UEFA etc.

That is what I mean though and I totally agree with you. No matter whether it is a disputed country or a flippin cardboard box. It has power (of course not full) but a pretty substantial amount of power regarding issues that matter, prime example is education. It has it's own government, it's own assembly. In my view it is a country, not that I support it or it's Queen Bee Mother UK. And I am sure if you asked people across the world whether they thought it was a country or not, the majority would call it a country.

P.s Catalonia do have a football team that is all I am sure of, and I am sure there are other teams in various sports that represent them different areas one way or another.
