Got a run around Celtic Park today
Looks very impressive, i'm told the capacity for this game shall be around 18000
It looks similar to Omagh and Newry
However the changing rooms do need replaced.
Only disappointment is that the 'dug outs' shall now be in the stand as in Omagh and so there shall be no opportunity for the plebs to give bad maners to the opposition managers.
When Mayo played there in the qualifiers a few years ago John O'M got serious stick about being a'blue shirt'

Each county in Ulster intend to develop their own centre of excellence.
Derry was the first to develop it in the early 90's at Owenbeg and it is now going through its second phase of development to incluse a 2000 seat stand in front of a newly laid sand carpet pitch along with a full size 3G pitch.
The Derry County board have 55 acres here and this is the now the hub of all the counties activities from administration right through to senior training.
On Friday evenings last summer there were in the region of 800 under 8 kids at the all county go-games at Owenbeg

correct me but is Mc Ginn not a primary school principal
Pure corner boy actions
We have had Paul Devlin in Celtic Park getting 18 months i think now Noel Mc Ginn in the running for at least the same
Thats a 80's and a 90's Tyrone defender in management
Dread to think what Mc Menamin will bring
Thank God Paul Donnelly now lives in London

I was talking to him at half-time and he said he got injured in a club game last Mon night.
He did not think it was too serious and hoped to be back for the final.
I see Michael O'Neill was called in for cover

One of the bravest footballers was a fellow who played for Ardmore in junior football in Derry with one arm and a only a stub as the other.
Boys it is how you define 'brave'

As someone who has had the same illness as Ronan at the same age as he is i have no doubt that he shall come through this.
He is strong and athletic he shall cruse the chemo.
Just look at this eposide as another hurdle in life and like all hurdles if you put your mind to it you shall jump it.

First impressions is very good. Although it is Omagh based I am of the opinion it will only be successful if it is not "parochial in theme".
However as a Derry man we get "the herald" from the same stable every week and it is easily one of the better weekly local papers. There has obviously been alot of thought and professionalism put into this product and i think it will do well in what is a very competitive market.

Hurling Discussion / Re: Joe Deane on road to recovery

Best of luck to Joe Deane.
As someone who has experienced his situation i do know what he is going through.
I have no doubt he will pull through, however if he has to go onto the Chemo i cannot see him training in Feb next.
It's not the worst case but it does put alot of things in prospective and it is only when you are in a cancer hospital that you realise that testicular cancer is small fry.
I hope he has been dected in good time and that he has no secondaries.
