Down / Re: Down Club Hurling & Football

Id be starting Aidan Car & Paul Murphy in that down team that played last weekend.

I understand that Car has left the panel ? is this correct?

What a shame if true, he was excellent for down & good from the dead ball.

Dont normally post on here,

However, congrats to Armagh. The took a lot of people by suprise & they fully deserved their win. A few lads raised their game, BJ Padden & Mal Mackin were very good IMO.

Armagh were hungry & POR's hate for certain members of the down county board was cascaded down into the players passion for the win.

Down didnt get out of the blocks in all areas of the park, Martin Clarke had an off night, danny hughes was exceptionally quiet, Mark Poland was good & won a fair bit of breaking ball.

I am sorry to say I dont rate Dan McCartan, or Eoin McCartan who I understand dosent get a full game for Burren (I many be incorrect there). either way, I dont rate them.

Big Dan needs out of full back & into the middle of the park again, we need to find a replacement though
Back door again & Ulster is wide open.

Dissapointed

But, seriously, Down MUST be the worst team to reach an All-Ireland Final since Armagh in '77.

+1

I was thinking Peter and the fourteen passengers of 1995 myself.

Good call.

Excellent Call.

Hard Station - get a life lad, 11 odd posts per day

Slayed - we were his laughing stock.

Just feel it was unwarranted what McHugh had against down . . .

Will he come out & praise a much improved Down Team? (maybe he has & I havent seen it!)

We have wont nothing yet in Down, but this is a sore one for me. . . .

Underdogs prevailed yesterday . . . . Down can win this final.

Any injury worries in either camp?

I understand Ambrose will be fit ?? Can anyone confirm?

Anderson is a very good player & doubt ihe would be anywhere near the panel f he wasnt worth his place. My understanding is that he was a late call up - fair play to the young lad.

Has had plenty of experience with UUJ over the past few years.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WILL AMBROSE BE FIT FOR FINAL?

Delighted with the win last night.

By no means thinking any further than the quarter finals. If we were told in Feb that we would get promoted to Div 1, we would have the tightest defensive record in all divisions & we would get to the AI Quarter Final stage, we would have taken this & would consider it to be a successful 1st Season for Wee James & Co.

Glad to see Dan McCartan back last night & delighted for Ronan Murtagh - i was under the impression that Murtagh had left the panel?

Does anyone know where Paul Murphy is? injured?

This year marks positive progress for Down football.
