Hi guys, sorry for spamming the thread, but if anyone is interested in winning a Setanta Sports subscription, fantasy5live.com are running a fantasy competition for the Cowboys v Giants game. Pick the 5 players you think will do best in terms of fantasy in the game. It's free to enter.
PS tough at the top of Walter Peyton B champ between myself (Royal Badgers) and Ruthless Rossies - but the badgers are built to finish strong!

Lads ye might have a look at fantasy5live.com, we're trying an NFL game between the Jets and the Patriots on Thursday night football. For those of you who don't know the format, pick 5 players who you think will score the most points according to the scoring system. We hope to do more games over the season and eventually offer prizes for winners. Feedback would also be appreciated.

Hi Az - am I out? No problem if I am, I haven't been on the board in a while so I don't mind. Apologies if you have been asking me to do something on the thread that I haven't done. Or do I have to register for a lower division?

Louth 1-12
Meath 0-03

Div 3 here we come. Banty, I think we've seen enough. That said we have bigger problems.
Banty has lost the team. I'm writing this year off now. Now to look to 2013 with a new manager...

Scandalous stuff. Any of us that played sport would not be shrinking violets and there is a certain macho BS element to some of these speeches but that's way, way past the line. Disgusting stuff.

Hardly Scandalous!
They were the only team caught, it's common place in all locker rooms according to some unnamed players.

I must be leading a sheltered life. Talk of targetting guys heads and ACL's is scandalous in my view and even if the whole world is at it it's still disgraceful.

Total disgrace. He will never get a job coaching again. It's not like he had a few words here and there, the whole speech was about injuring the other team.

Quotemassively populated towns like Dunshaughlin

5674 - in the 2011 census hardly constitutes massive population - We had a minor league match last night and could only get 17 players out and that included 5 u16s - plenty of good work being down at underage /nursery level but agree re the structures
OK, I may have gotten carried away. What I should have said is that these "satellite" towns contain a young population, usually with young couples with young children, and these are where the camps should be, and where work should be done in schools. There are loads of primary schools in these towns and I doubt any hurling goes on in them.

As for the turnout - maybe this is product of the lack of work being done in the schools and efforts to attract new kids to our national games - rather than the lack of a massive population...

Meath football has a great tradition, and the club structure is strong in most areas, but this is the only thing keeping the county team afloat in my opinion. The lack of underage structures in the county and in particular in hurling is a disgrace. We were successful years ago because every county relied on good club structures, but now other counties have moved in to investing time bringing the good players together and making them better, which we haven't done.

I know Meath don't have the resources that Dublin have, but there were Easter camps all over Dublin the past week and not a sign of a camp in massively populated towns like Dunshaughlin, Dunboyne, Ashbourne or Ratoath. Just a small part of the problem.

Saw We Bought a Zoo. Thought it was ok to good. A feel good film, the kind of film you'd watch with your parents.

DO NOT pay money to see The Hunger Games. Worst pile of tripe I've seen in a long time. Do not believe the high ratings it is bizarrely being given.

I quite enjoyed it to be honest. Maybe because I missed all the hype and wasn't aware it's a book.
I went into it fresh as well and didn't know it was the first part of a trilogy and didn't know it was a book and I thought that might have been a reason why I didn't like it / understand it / thought it was a load of crap. I won't talk about the specific downfalls of the movie at the risk of spoiling but to me it seemed there were a heap of sub plots going on but only touched on each of them a little and I didn't get a sense of why or where certain relationships came from or why they existed. I know its a difficult thing to fit everything into a film and a book can give you background on the various characters but that is the challenge the writers face, and I thought they failed miserably.
