Osborn, King and Megran. Or Crosby, Stills and Nash. Or Crosby, Stills and Young. No...its Emerson, Lake and Palmer but as sure as hell it aint that duo from Meath along with Leitrims O Rourke.

Sorry but glad to see O Donnell go. With him in charge and his ability I could see them being a big challenge in the years ahead. A big sigh of relief with the appointment of the ex Donegal footballer. More pain for the rossies...there is a god after all.

All they need now is a team.

Ross4life  I am delighted Balla is happy for Andy. I was just as  happy for Geesalas Pat Lindsey and Castlebars Dermot Early when they won All Stars with Roscommon in the 1980s.

Get rid of referees. None have played the game at any important level. Most want to be noticed and a fair few are as biased as fcuk. Of course they wont be gotten rid of but they, most of them, are the single biggest cause of mayhem in the game. No consistency, no standard interpretation of whats a tackle and the biggest bugbear being, many refs sem to think that any doubt or advantage must always be given to the so called big teams.

How come Collins the Connacht final referee turned over a free he gave Mayo two minutes into the second half. He felt the free taker O Connor was time wasting. Mayo were four points down there was 33 minutes left and a gale was blowing. TV 3 timed the next free, awarded to Roscommon. They took longer but no throw up.
Now either there is a rule that applies to every team as regards the length that can be taken for a free kick or Collins had it in for mayo. If the criteria applying to O Connor of Mayo by Collins then Cluxton should have had that last ball thrown up. By the way I didn't think Cluxton was time wasting but neither was O Connor.

Hi Gold, Connolly was  born and raised in Leitrim, played U 14 with them. Moved to Dublin at 16 and threw his lot in with the Dubs. Colm O Rourke did same with Meath. I think Connolly got a small farm near Ballsbridge.

GAA Discussion / Re: 31 counties supporting Dublin??

Any body but Dublin...no such place exists anyway, they are all sons of the culchies who cried when taken back from grandads farm at the end of the summer holidays. I would even support Roscommon instead of Dublin and believe me that would take some nose holding.

Ros Matt , reminds of the Connacht Final 2001 when Ray Connelly got sent of for farting near a collapsed Roscommon player whom a passing breeze left sitting on his arse.

GAA Discussion / Re: Young player of the year

It has to be someone from the medias favorites...Kildare. Beheny in the Indo yesterday pencilled 3 of them in for All Stars. This is a team who have lived in division 2 for four years, who have beaten nobody of note outside Leinster and who have won nothing in Leinster but who happen to have McGeeney as manager. Reminds me of 1997 when they got 3 All Stars. How? good question...they won one championship match, lost to Meath in the Leinster semi final and that was it...oh by the way Micko was manager as well.
So in a break with tradition lets lift the age limit for the young player of the year and call it "Young Player of The Year and your in with a shout if you are nearly forty". Then Johnny Doyle can get it.

GAA Discussion / Re: No hype about Dublin
September 12, 2011, 11:01:03 AM
The hype out in the suburbs in Meath is mental. All of Dublin must have moved out during da boom.Clonee and Ashbourne are full of Dublin colours, so too Dunboyne,. Leixlip is awash with blue and dark blue. And Maynooth is as bad.

Always knew that the Dubs were soccer followers first. Should have got your business to invest in Croker not Landsdowne with its poxy soccer. The rugby is ok though.
