Just reading the Dublin page there and i see K MC Gourty was playing for U.C.D. last night against St Bridget's. He lost by a point but playing for a college 24 hours before your club is in a county final i ask you. Unbelievable stuff. By the was Oliver Plunkets won easy against Lucan, and Vins and Ballyboden drew.

St Eunan's should be 6000000/1 because they are out of the Donegal championship you tube.

Down / Re: Down Club Hurling & Football

St Eunan's G.A.A. club from Letterkenny are currently holding their annual fundraising draw for 2 All Ireland tickets and hotel accommodation in Dublin. Tickets costs 10 euro. If they went up to Co Down someday selling how would they get on? Where could they set up to sell to loads of Down supporters in one place? What about ASDA OR The Quay's shopping center in Newry. Would it be better to reduce the tickets to £5? Any comments welcome. Thanks.

For Value for money you can't beat the Mount Errigal in Letterkenny, Good hotel with good leisure centre and atmosphere always. New place in town called Bastille which is french and supposed to be good.Letterkenny is hard to beat for the pubs and clubs at the weekend.

Lads have not reas all the posts but you should consider Eamonn O' Boyle who has managed St Eunan's to 2 senior championships in the last 2 years in Donegal. He stepped down this year. He is a proud Mayo man from Ballina with a few championships to his name with the Stephenites. I think he is friendly with Marty Mc Grath who is supposed to be a very good trainer.

Two changes on the Donegal team i picked two days ago. Frank Mc Glynn in instead of Paddy Mc Grath and Michael Maguire in for A Thomson. Fair enough with Mc Glynn but don't rate Maguire, a club mate of John Joe's. Still no place for Colm Mc Fadden.

Word is that the following is going to be the Donegal team on Sunday.

Durcan, Lacey, Mc Gee, P Mc Grath, A Thompson, B Monaghan, K Cassidy, R Kavanagh, N Gallagher,B Dunnion, C Toye, D Walsh,C Dunne, M Murphy, D Molloy.

Big calls with young Molloy and Mc Grath starting from the U 21s. Dunnion will probably drop deep with Dunne coming out the field a bit.Personally don't think B Monaghan is up to it, i would have E Mc Gee instead. No place for Frank Mc Glynn but i might be wrong so we will have to wait and see. Donegal will win mark my words. This Down team are frauds.

And the one player playing in Ballybofey on Sunday is not from Down. A great hockey player in his youth. Still gets plenty of slagging about the Hockey

Think Donegal have a chance but you never know. Both Toye and Kavanagh are a help but both sent off on straight reds in recent club games and will now miss some much needed game time before the Down game. Not sure about Gallagher at Midfield, we played much better last year without him.Eamonn Mc Gee will help things and Michael Boyle should be in goals but our Manager will stick with Durcan who is simply hopeless, letting Stevie Mc Donnell jump against him and punch the ball into the net in Letterkenny was simply unforgivable for someone his height.
If Down are thinking about playing Dan Gordon at full back then they are worried about Murphy and must be going for a big man to compete against Murphy. The facts are that Tipp beat Down in Div 2 final last year and Wicklow put them out of the championship. I know they are improved under wee James but still not convinced and although i have no serious confidence in Donegal i think we have a 50/50 chance.

GAA Discussion / Re: Stewards at the Game yesterday

Its not about having power etc, they should be tuned into what is happening around the pitch and in the stands and they are there to keep people safe and look after them. I know at home for club games people are assigned to different area and certain people have responsibility for the tunnel area and making sure people in the stand behave themselves. If i saw some supporter throw something  or hit a ref or any other official i would certainly name him and report him to the county board. But my problem in Limerick on Sunday was that you could sense from the T.V. that the crowd weren't happy and that the Portlaoise supporter were going to have a go as the ref made his way of the pitch but no stewards or Guards made their way to the side of the pitch or tunnel area to protect the ref and let the crowd know that they weren't for taking any abuse.

GAA Discussion / Stewards at the Game yesterday
February 22, 2010, 02:03:17 PM
Looking at the game on T.V. yesterday i wasn't a bit surprised to see the ref being abused at half time. What i can't understand is where the Stewards and Guards are when they know things are going to get rough. Looking at T.V. it seems that anyone can run into the tunnel area in Limerick to get at the ref. This area should be protected and no one allowed near the place especially when its clear to see that tempers are running high and trouble is imminent. Too many stewards only do the job so they can get in to watch the match free and couldn't even tell you where the toilet is if you ask them.
I know Croke Park is different but most county grounds are full of big fat middle aged men leaning over the fence drink a cup of free tea. There should have been 4 stewards around the ref at half time when he left the pitch and the same at the end. The Gardai were at least out for the second half but again this was too late.

Yes young Keith was a firm favourite on the old Flapping scene up here in Donegal the last few years until he went under rules. I backed him last year at Perth when he rode a nice winner for Gordon Elliot.
