GAA Discussion / Re: NFL Division 1 2022

First half of Monaghan v Mayo was a good watch.  Both teams played well.  Monaghan probably missed too much and should have been further ahead than the one point at the break.  The injury to Mcloughlin did sour the thing a bit and I hope he is back again soon.  The second half was a bit scrappier.  The second Mayo goal saw them home but Monaghan again had enough chances to at least get a draw but again the shooting boots went missing.

France win the nations league. But how was that winner not offside from Mbappe?? Seems wrong that the defender attempting to cut out the ball plays him on somehow....

After the game I did feel that Lane had a disaster all round.  He is just a poor ref.
The Hennelly retake excuse offered by McStay that Philly ran across the kicker seemed ludicrus to me.  The 16 men still on the field is more plausable.  Imagine Hennelly nailed the first one and was then been made retake??

Hickey has a point though with the Comerford over carrying free.  That was a joke.  And the basquel black seemed harsh to me too.

But to think these decisions cost Dublin the match can be counter-acted by more Lane madness on the day on the other side.  Dublin defo should have had a few black cards in normal time which would have benefited mayo.  Lane just lost control of the whole ocassion.

Fair play to Mayo for sticking at it in the second half.  I had them written off after 20 minutes.  The game was heading into boredom mode at that stage.  Dublin could have finished them when they were on top but decided to play keep ball with a full half remaining.  For that alone I was happy to see the Mayo revival.

If Tyrone win surely they only send monaghan to a relegation play off. Same if monaghan win Tyrone will most likely be in that play off??..... I think....

Ronnie is a dose.  He talks rubbish and says things just to cause a stir and make a few headlines.

That said I would watch him play every day of the week and would hope he wins so I could see him in action again the next day.  An unreal talent.  The speed in which he can turn a match on its head, the ruthlessness when in front and then he has probably been one of the best safety players ever.  He would have more world titles if he remained interested.  Best achievement was probably taking a break from snooker after winning 2012 and then defending the title in 2013.

Ref should have gone over, spoke to the two of them.  Said cop on and play away.  Was there much in it really??  Didn't warrent a man getting the line anyway.  Get the umpires then to keep a better eye on them for the following 5 mins and if it continues then there can be no complaints

What was Cliffords first yellow for anyway?

You can avail of Eir sports package if you have eir broadband package via their app.  I do not have sky, Virgin or Eir TV package but I can avail of the Eir sports app for free once my broadband is with eir.  I can then chromecast eir sports from my phone to the TV.  It also includes virgin media sports pack now. (this use to be BT Sports)

Monaghan only has 29 clubs.  10 Senior, 10 Intermediate and 9 Junior with Scotstown also entering a junior team to make this up to 10 also. There does tend to be a trend of teams getting promoted one year but struggling to stay there the next.  Magheracloone had a rough year in 2018 and it resulted in relegation.  But they were always going to be too strong for intermediate and getting Tommy Freeman talked into coming back helped them too.  They were a good bit ahead of the rest.  Blackhill are a good junior outfit but like other clubs would find intermediate tough.  Emyvale won Junior in 2018 and finished 8th in intermediate narrowly avoiding the drop for next season.  Aughnamullen and Sean McDermotts were relegated to junior and should be strong there next year.
