A Championship run is nice for all involved in the Club but this season I think Bronco and Benny will be judged on how they deal with the following conundrums:
Promotion - crucial and will determine if the season is viewed as a success or not.
Peader Toal - needs to play more than a handful of games and to contribute more on and off the field;
Boys studying / working away from home - how does the team get best out of these lads ?
Deccie McKenna - how best to use him and integrate him and 2 or 3 others from the Minors
Declan Coulter - great athlete but needs to play more football now

We should be optimistic. On our day we are one of the better teams in the County.
Best of luck lads.

Given recent negative responses to your postings about sub-committees and about funerals, here's a wee word of advice Wanderer.

There's a Preview button on the Post Reply screen.
It might be a good idea to use it to double check comments before posting.
Have a look at what you are about to post and ask yourself
- is it interesting ?
- is it of any importance to anything or anyone ?
- is it of any relevance ?
- is it adding any value to the thread ?

Otherwise you end up pissing people off and getting pissed off yourself in turn.

Well done to the Harps Committee on a well written defence of our club.
Having read John Morrison's article and the Sports Editor's letter it looks like John Morrison was not pandering to his own grotesque ego......rather he has no control over what is / is not published on the pages which carry his name......strange way for a journalist to operate.
Anyway, thats the Gazette side of things sorted. Well done.

Whilst not wishing to drag the Club's current issues out any longer on this thread I feel I can't let the Gazette letter go without comment.
No matter if you want Benny and Bronco or you want Dynesy and Marty or like me you don't mind either way........
What John Morrison allowed to be published in this week's paper was an astounding insult to the club. He abused his position to publish a letter pandering to his own grotesque ego at the expense of both the Club and Benny O'Kane. He should apologise unreservedly to the Club and to Benny O'Kane in next weeks edition.
Shame on you Beefer.

Wanderer and Ogshead and indeed anyone else interested in the history of football in the City.......
I recommend you read Phil McGinn's history of the Harps.
It deals in fair detail with a lot of the points you have raised on here.
Yes, its a history of the Harps but when you read it you realise that its a history of football in the city. A history from which evolved the Harps and the Ogs as we are today.
It showed to me that we have much more in common than we thought.
A good friend of mine, an Ogs comittee member agrees whole heartedly.

Woke up this morning still proud to be a Harps Man.

Congratulations to the Minors.
It was great to see them all together in the club last night.
Best times of your life - winning a final with the mates you grew up with.
Commiserations to the Seniors. I sincerely hope we can push on from here, ger out of division 2 and challenge for the Championship again as soon as possible.
Congratulations to the Ogs - a fully deserved win by a club on the rise.

Beefer is some craic alright.
Highlight of the local papers in any given week is reading his column. :D

However one point I agree whole heartedly on is that whatever happens we should be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

Remember we're all Armagh City by birth
(........its just some of us are Armagh Harps by the grace of God  :P)

Wanderer, fair comments on the silly posts about class and money.
You raise an interesting point in your last post - a point I first heard just recently from a proud Ogs man.
But is it really true that the Ogs started as a result of some perceived class distinction on the part if the Harps at the time ?
Or was it not simply the case that the town was big enough for 2 teams given the amount of boys not getting football with the only club in the town ?
Can't remember if Phil's history deals with this issue.
